REMOTE VIEWING & THE REVOLUTIONARY TIMES: 1848 AND 1968 *PIC*

The following interview is a second, bonus installment of the on-going discussion with A. Edward Moch, on the subject of Remote Viewing and psychical research: our valued Readers should be aware that this installment draws together material from the history of the papacy and from the history of economic development and the introduction of new technologies, and then delves into the rise of Satanism in the mid-1960s.

Important technological developments are noted by their year of introduction, and are provided as a kind of timeline for guidance.

This discussion centers on the accelerating pace of change in the 20th Century, from the materialistic economy of 19th Century weights and measures and static warehouses for commodities, to the weightless 20th Century world of radio wavelengths, X-rays and mass media.

These developments, which have accelerated constantly since the Armistice of November, 1918, had a profound effect on legitimate forms of psychical research and particularly on the special techniques of Remote Viewing.

INTRODUCTION: THE WAR FOR GREATER SERBIA AND BENEDICT THE 15TH, AND THE RAPID RISE OF RADIO

“The European feudal chiselers had controlled world-productivity by controlling the specie medium essential to trade until the 1914 saturation point of world-encompassing export outlets occurred. This signaled the European feudal chiselers inception of the [Great] War.” So said R. Buckminster Fuller in his first book, Nine Chains To The Moon, published in 1938 and republished by Southern Illinois University Press in 1968. Fuller named the great European royal families and their bankers “feudal racketeers”. In his view, the Great War was not about the clash of dynastic ambitions, but about the clash of financial interests and world trade. In short, The War For Greater Serbia, Part One was the first truly world-around trade war.

Patriotlad: Our discussion on Remote Viewing and psychical research has touched on various aspects and usages of mental powers and the science of psychology, in previous interviews, and always as it relates to the needs and demands of military preparedness and defense. Now, in the last few weeks, we have seen the passing of Pope John Paul II and the accession of Benedict XVI. We know for sure that the new Pope has taken the name of Benedict partly to bring honor to Benedict XV, who was elected Pope on September 3, 1914. He was the Cardinal known formerly as Giacomo della Chiesa ( 1854-1922 ), Archbishop of Milan.

This man, a lawyer by training and a diplomat by experience, was elected to lead the Roman Catholic Church shortly after the outbreak of this brutal and destructive war. Despite many honorable and noble efforts to mediate between the various Christian kings and princes who were the leaders of the countries involved in the fighting, he was unsuccessful on almost all counts.

What I find truly intriguing, though, is the fact that Benedict the XVth was the Pope who canonized Joan of Arc, the female soldier and visionary who clearly exhibited some of the aspects of Remote Viewing as a talent, and who had both experiences of visitations and direct revelations, and who heard voices which seemed to speak to her from a divine source. In the time of this Pope, beginning with the experiments of Marconi and others, the ability to transmit a voice through thin air – invisibly – was pioneered and applied to military usages, and then to commercial uses beginning in 1920. There were some very important developments in the years of Benedict XV:

There was the tungsten-filament lamp introduced ( 1913 ), and put into usage; there was research on radiation conducted by Geiger; experiments with the 100 kilocycle generator, by Alexanderson; and there was Bohr’s speculations on the structure of the atom. Scientific signs abounding, and then there were also all of these symbolic events of the spirit ….

A.Edward Moch: It is interesting that when we see a rehash of messages and signs from the era of the Great War, that in our present day and age, our new Pope would chose Benedict the XVth as a namesake. Symbolically, the events during that time-frame are still with us to this day … in both figurative and literal ways.

Patriotlad: That’s absolutely correct. Can you elaborate ?

A.Edward Moch: Besides the canonization of Joan of Arc, Pope Benedict the XVth tried to implement methods for better treatment of prisoners of war. Furthermore, he sought to obtain “the Truce of God” at Christmas time in 1914 and 1915. That effort failed, but he did not stop trying. Again in August of 1917, he sought to bring the warring parties to some kind of mediation with his seven-point Peace Note. It was ignored by all the European leaders. Only Woodrow Wilson answered the Pope’s entreaty.

It is also to be noted that months before the Peace Note of August, 1917, three young children – at a place called Fatima in Portugal – had the experience of an apparational Visitation from the Blessed Mother, Mary. Of these three young children, only Sister Lucia, the cousin of the brother and sister, would survive to a very old age.

It is also noted that prior to this event, they had an apparitional visitation from an angel, preparing them for the Fatima event !! They were made aware of the coming Visitation by the Blessed Mother, perhaps as a direct revelation. Many experts believe that the three children actually received communion directly from the spirit being.

There is no doubt that the events at Fatima caused great excitement among Roman Catholics, around the world, in a very short period of time. This event was a precursor to the new ways of communications, and showed that one spiritual event could be known by millions of people within just a few days’ time.

Patriotlad: There were, indeed, so very many technical advances in the time of this pontiff: experiments with chrome-nickel steel were conducted, the selenium photometer was pioneered ( 1914 ), and the high vaccum radio tube was developed in 1915. The enormous expenditures on military hardware for the Great War also involved technical advances – including the deployment of chlorine gas as a weapon of war – and then the subsequent invention of the gas mask ( 1916 ). And then there were these very notable spiritual events, which continue to have repercussions to this day. The old world of soft iron and hard currency was dissolving, while the new order of invisible wavelengths and invisible chemical properties was developing. And into this mixture of fratricidal European war and defense-related science, comes the events at Fatima in Portugal. Benedict the XVth – diplomat, lawyer, son of a noble family – was the Bishop of Rome at the time of the Fatima occurrence: was there any event in the previous decades that compared to Fatima in any way ??

A.Edward Moch: Yes, there was. The apparitions at Lourdes, which were given to Bernadette Soubirous, a bright child of an impoverished French family. These apparitions began on February 11th of 1858, in this ancient town at the foot of the Pyrenees. In the midst of a drought and a cholera epidemic, Bernadette was told that there was water in the Grotto of Lourdes. It was on Thursday, February 25th that she was given the knowledge of a spring lying under the Grotto, and by digging ( a form of dowsing ? ), she was able to bring forth the waters which made Lourdes famous. During the time of these visitations, the Pope was Pius IXth. He remains one of the most interesting and controversial leaders of the Roman Catholic faith, and he served a total of thirty-two years !!

”The Fortnight Of Visitations” was the name given to this period of direct revelations in the life of Bernadette. It was for this, and other related miracles, that Marie Bernarde Soubirous, or Bernadette, was canonized by Pope Pius XI, the successor to Benedict XV.

Patriotlad: Pius the Eleventh was favorably disposed towards technology, and he founded the Vatican radio in 1936. Pope Pius XI died in 1939, which means that his successor, Pius the XIIth, became the Bishop of Rome only a few months before the outbreak of the Second World War, or the Second Part of the War for Greater Serbia.

A.Edward Moch: As we have discussed extensively, in our preparations for this segment of the Remote Viewing story, there seem to be alternating cycles of spiritual Christian renewal and anti-Christian activity. This is clearly demonstrated in the events which led to the dissolution of the Papal States during the time of Pius IX.

CRITICAL EVENTS FROM APRIL TO NOVEMBER, 1848

“In January 1848,” writes Frank J. Coppa, “when Rome received word that Ferdinand II of Naples, in response to a revolutionary outburst, had granted his people a constitution, Pius IX was petitioned to do the same. On March 10, the pope, hoping to prevent a similar upheaval in the Papal States, announced the formation of a liberal ministry presided over by Cardinal Antonelli. Four days later the Roman constitution was published, creating two deliberative councils for the formation of law. To safeguard the position of the church, the councils were prohibited from discussing the diplomatic-religious relations of the Holy See or limiting its rights.

“Shortly after the constitution of the Papal States was made public, Rome received word of the revolution in Vienna, the flight of Metternich, the revolution against the Habsburg control in Milan and Venice and the opening of a war of national liberation, spearheaded by Charles Albert of Piedmont-Sardinia.
“Pius IX was called upon to join the crusade against Austria, but hesitated, fearing a German schism. In his allocution of April 29th 1848, he announced that as common father of all Catholics he could not prevent his subjects from entering the conflict as volunteers.

“The reaction to the Pope's pacific policy, which was contrary to that of his constitutional ministry,” says Coppa, “provoked unrest, and in mid-November 1848 a revolution in Rome. The imposition of a radical, anti-Austrian ministry led Pius IX to flee his capital for the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies [on] the evening of November 24th and subsequently call for the intervention of the Catholic powers to crush the Roman Republic ( formed early in 1849 ).

“Although Cardinal Giacomo Antonelli orchestrated the Pope's successful flight from Rome and the diplomacy that led to the Papal restoration, he executed but did not initiate the anti-national, illiberal policy pursued by Rome after 1849. This policy was inspired by Pius. The events of 1848 turned this pope against … constitutionalism and led him to question his earlier reformism.”

ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY YEARS LATER, THE RISE OF SATANISM ~ AND THE ELECTION OF THE REFORMIST POPE PAUL VI

Patriotlad: The time of Pius the Ninth was incredibly chaotic in its beginnings and filled with intrigue for the whole of his thirty-two years as the pontiff. The extraordinary and youthful revolutionary fervor of 1848 would not reoccur until the middle of the 1960s, at least as far as western Europe and the United States were concerned.

Giovanni Battista Montini became Pope Paul VI in 1963. As the pontiff he continued the reforms of John XXIII. He reconvened the Second Vatican Council, and he supervised implementations of many of its reforms, including the liturgy. He inititated the travels of the modern papacy, with visits to the Holy Land and to India, and with a trip to New York City in 1965, where he made an address to the United Nations. This brings us to a very interesting junction, one where the personal side of your story, and your interest in Remote Viewing and psychical research, crosses with the public world of papal visits and big-money Hollywood film productions.

A.Edward Moch: Yes it does, and it has taken me some years to figure things out and to try to get things I do know for sure to jibe with things I think I know … or suspect that I know, to be true. To tell this story I have to weave together elements from popular fiction and the movies with things I’ve learned or experienced. I have to talk about people who were important to me in little ways, and about some people who were important to me in the biggest of ways.

Patriotlad: Forty-five years after the Great War sputtered to a halt with the Armistice of November 1918 – the fight we joined as Americans in 1917, “to make the world safe for democracy,” was still going on. The country had lived through the Second Half of the Great War, the Korean Conflict, the Suez Canal incident, the rebellion in communist Hungary and the agonizing choices of The Cold War.

But nothing is ever enough for those who love war for its profits or its glories, and by November 1963 the United States was lurching towards a new war-fighting destination, one that most people could not even spell – Viet Nam. And in Viet Nam there was a true civil war going on, one that divided families and clans and regions of the country, one from the other. It divided Buddhists from Catholics and the Viet Minh Communists from everybody else.

And then, President John F. Kennedy – the first Roman Catholic president – was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. It has often seemed, since that time, that Satan was let loose to wreck all in this country, to rouse the wicked and defeat the righteous.

THE INVENTION OF THE TELEGRAPH AND THE COMPLEX WORLD OF THE 1840s

“One of the most fantastic capabilities of the human brain is that of complex pattern-recognition.

“Many of today’s seemingly new and complex occurences are in fact relatively simple and are clearly related to other phenomena with which we have learned to deal successfully.” – R. Buckminster Fuller, Critical Path, 1981

Patriotlad: The ten years leading up to the revolutionary year of 1848 were marked by a series of incredible technical developments. Beginning with the earliest form of photography, the Daguerrotype, and proceeding through the synthesis of nitroglycerin and the development of the first working telegraph system, the early 1840s was a time of intense intellectual growth in Europe and the United States. Wasn’t this growth also mirrored in the realm of psychical experiments and “mesmeric revelation” ??

A.Edward Moch: Yes, and especially with regard to the contemporary of Edgar Allan Poe, a young Frenchman named Alexis Didier, the so-called “magnetic sleepwalker.” He apparently began to show dramatic clairvoyant and Remote Viewing capabilities at about the age of fourteen. In his life he was known to have the ability of divination, and of psychometry, or the reading of an object’s history including the names of people who had touched some item. Didier was supposed to have the ability – in the trance or sleep-walking state – to read a closed book or to discuss things and tell jokes with his “interlocutors.”

Patriotlad: This was also the time in the United States when the study of Phrenology was in vogue, and thousands of people subscribed to certain magazines which covered different aspects of what we would now call neuro-physical medical research. But then, Phrenology was considered to be both something of medicine and something of magic.

A.Edward Moch: These psychical advances ushered in new re-evaluations of spiritual developments and their relationships to physical and natural phemenona. As like Poe, Alexis Didier was utilized in early astral/remote viewing by French intelligence. Just consider the possibilities inherent in having an agent who can enter a trance state and read a closed book !! Or who can foresee events and decode strings of complex instructions, from afar !! Didier apparently had the ability to be a psychic spy or intelligence operative, and may have had extraordinary clairvoyant faculties as well. By contrast, Edgar Allan Poe was gifted more with a metaphysical intelligence, and this included codes and code-breaking. Didier was both analytical and multi-linear in his “magnetic sleepwalking” abilities and “lucid dynamics.” To this day, psychologists and researchers marvel at Didier’s full set of abilities. The French may have taken astral/remote viewing far more seriously than did the Americans, at that time.

Patriotlad: Interestingly enough, France, a country with an absolute majority of Catholics, was actively hostile to the Papacy at this time, isn’t that so ?

A.Edward Moch: At the least, they were strongly indifferent, and practically intolerant of ecclesiastical decrees and Papal Bulls originating in the Vatican, and committed to scientific explorations and academic rigor. This does not mean, however, that they welcomed every new scientific idea or theory, as the life of Louis Pasteur demonstrated. Nevertheless, it ushered in a period of French dominance in scientific research. At the same time, Napoleon III was making both diplomatic advances to the Papacy and plotting against the power of the Papal States, in a very strange and duplicitous game. The secular movements in Europe would eventually overtake and overrun the authority of the pontiff, as evidenced in the expulsion of the Pope from Rome and the loss of the Papal States.

Patriotlad: In the ten years prior to the revolutionary events of 1968, we see a similar pattern of intense and dynamic changes in the world of science and applied technology, in the U.S. and in Europe. The Cold War was a conduit of rapid change and acceleration in many areas of technology and scientific research. The commercial application of transistors and micro-electronics began in this run-up to ’68, and the discovery and invention of the laser was another significant element of advance. So, too, deployment and usage of satellites near to the Earth in steady orbits was another major change for both commercial communications and military intelligence.

A.Edward Moch: We know for sure, that banking houses and wealthy investors were extremely important to the advances of the 1840s, and many of these banking firms would become global powerhouses in the following hundred years. Many of these financial giants obtained significant revenues from financing both sides of the fighting in The Great War, and we suspect them of financing some aspects of the Second World War, at least up to the very last hours before the fighting began in earnest. None of these banking firms, nor their wealthy clients, suffered during The Cold War.

Patriotlad: It seems very significant to me, to notice that in the years just prior to the revolutionary explosions of 1968, there was a tremendous cultural shift in the entertainment industry. Surely, beginning with 1964’s “Séance On A Wet Afternoon,” and continuing with the Hammer Films productions of movies about Dracula, the undead, and Satanic rituals, this obsession with the macabre became a force of its own. One of the most important of these movies dealing with Satanism was “The Devil Rides Out,” starring Christopher Lee. Also known as “The Devil’s Bride,” in the United States, this excellent movie came out in Great Britain in the middle of 1968, later released in the U.S. in December. Another powerful film in this genre was “The Curse Of The Crimson Altar,” yet another film starring Lee ( and otherwise known as “The Crimson Cult” ).

A.Edward Moch: And of course, there’s the real blockbuster movie of 1968, Roman Polanski’s “Rosemary’s Baby.” Based on the novel by Ira Levin, it shocked and thrilled movie audiences around the country – without resorting to bloodshed, gore, or any physical violence – becoming larger than life in its connections to The Dakota, where some scenes were filmed. Then again, the tragic events concocted by the Manson Gang, leading to the Tate~LaBianca murders, and other unexplainable behaviors and coincidences, have given this cinematic fiction a legend of its own. In 1965, when Pope Paul VI came to New York City, I was in the crowd watching the motorcade as it went by Central Park between 72nd and 73rd Streets. As it happens, the visit to New York by Paul VI is encapsulated in “Rosemary’s Baby” and seems to be a marker of some kind.

Where I was standing, that day, was directly in the shadow of The Dakota apartment building: in “Rosemary’s Baby,” the building is called The Bramford, but it is the same kind of high-value lodging and elegant address as The Dakota is in real life. I found it very serendipitous that in a scene from the movie, Rosemary and her acquaintances are watching television when the Pope is travelling with his motorcade.

Patriotlad: But there’s even more to this movie, affecting your personal experiences in life and in your involvement in Remote Viewing, than these snippets …. Isn’t that true ??

A.Edward Moch: That’s true. Unknown to me, years later, I would meet a fascinating woman, one who at first glance dressed like a hippie, but who had a personality that was far deeper and more secretive than her surface appearance. This happened in 1973, and in the following years we got to know each other rather well – except for the fact that I was never really sure who she really was – and that is something I need to explain. One day, when we were moving some of her personal possessions, a box fell and broke open. In that box was a copy of Playboy magazine from 1967. Featured in that magazine was a woman named Angela Dorian, who closely resembled the lady I knew as Judith. When I asked her about this, she said “I only look like her, and people get me confused with her.”

Patriotlad: Now that’s the really curious part. In “Rosemary’s Baby,” both in the novel by Ira Levin and in the film, there’s a sequence which occurs in the basement laundry room of that apartment building ( the real Dakota ). Rosemary is doing some laundry and she encounters another young woman who she mistakes for a famous actress. In the film, she asks “Are you Victoria Vetri ?”

A.Edward Moch: Right, and in the film, the character of Terry Gionoffrio responds similarly to what Judith said to me about Angela Dorian and Playboy. The kicker is, that Angela Dorian was a stage name used by Victoria Vetri in many of her television and film appearances !! So, the basement sequence in “Rosemary’s Baby” has this incredibly odd feeling to it. There’s Mia Farrow asking the actress credited as Angela Dorian if she is Victoria Vetri, when in fact, she really is !!

Patriotlad: As it happens, Vetri apparently left the movie business in 1973, after a fairly long and successful run as a character actress in both television and film. All of our readers must now really want to know – was this lady named Judith, in fact, Victoria Vetri ??

A.Edward Moch: Either this was a slightly older edition of the real Victoria Vetri, Playmate of the Year in 1968, or one amazingly convincing look-alike. Either way, this person was trying to hide her true identity, by fobbing off associations with Angela Dorian or Victoria Vetri as being mistaken identity. The real Vetri got started in Hollywood when she was still only seventeen, and secured a fair number of roles in popular television series, by playing Indian, Mexican, or immigrant girls. Her brunette hair and Italian heritage made it easy for her to be cast as these types of characters. But in “Rosemary’s Baby”, she was playing a streetwise Italian-American girl who was on the rebound from drug addiction. What is doubly curious, is that in the movie, her character ( Terry ) apparently commits suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of the Bramford ( Dakota ), landing on almost the exact spot on the sidewalk where John Lennon would die, assassinated, years later in 1980. The association is truly chilling and very peculiar. It seems important to note that this Vetri-lookalike ( or the real Vetri ? ), was often helpful to me and encouraging to me, to extend myself and to learn more about the reality psychical research.

Patriotlad: So, was she grooming you or was she protecting you as you guided yourself on the path of exploration ??

A.Edward Moch: At first, I did not think so. But, after several years of connecting the dots, it would appear that it was both. She was both an encouragement and protective influence in my life. Now, however, I see that I was also protecting her in certain ways.

Patriotlad: Do you think she was an operative, and if so, was she tracking Satanic activity, or monitoring those who did ??

A.Edward Moch: It would seem, at the present time, that it was not an accidental meeting which brought us together, not a coincidence. There were times she would disappear for days, without ever providing a full explanation. And she had a secretive nature.

Patriotlad: Most importantly, she was in your life in an important way, at the time the bizarre and tragic events which are now called “The Son of Sam Murders” happened in New York City, right ?

A.Edward Moch: Yes.

Patriotlad: Many researchers that I have talked to, still suspect that there was and is a Satanic element to the Son of Sam case. Yet others feel it was a complete anomaly.

A.Edward Moch: It is interesting to note that certain key members that were part of “son of Sam cult” were all brought up as Roman Catholics, except for David Berkowitz, who later learned that he was adopted by a Jewish family and that he was Italian-American by heritage. The whole history of the Son of Sam murders has yet to be compiled and fully documented. There’s more to those events, more than has ever been told or reported, and I wonder why the Federal Bureau of Investigation has caused this case to go dark, and become “Classified.”

Patriotlad: So here we are, in 2005, with the newly-elected Pope choosing the name of Benedict: he deliberately associates this choice with Benedict XVth, the pontiff who lived through the bloodiest four years in human history ( up to that time ), as the spiritual leader of Roman Catholics. The Bishop of Rome, forlorn, and unable to draw either the leaders of the warring countries or the prominent bankers and industrialists who supported them, out of war-fighting modes and into negotiations for peace.

A.Edward Moch: It has been predicted, in the propheicies of St. Malachy, in the motto ascribed to each of the popes, that Benedict the XVIth will have the motto “the glory of the olive”. It is possible that this pontiff is either the last or the next-to-the-last of the Bishops of Rome, before a major schism undermines the Church completely.

Patriotlad: Of course, the whole theme of “Rosemary’s Baby” was that her child was supposed to be The Son Of Satan, named Adrian, and born in the Sixth month of 1966 ….

A.Edward Moch: Indeed. That would make the fictional Adrian forty years old in 2008. The prophecy of St. Malachy supposedly ushers in the End of the World As We Know It.

Patriotlad: Maybe so, but the Centuries of Nostradamus clearly indicate that the history of this world continues for no less than another 1700 years after this perilous time. That doesn’t mean the current state of affairs is easy to comprehend, nor easy to navigate. It does mean, however, that the great physician and prophet, Nostradamus, was secure in his Remote Viewing, and cognizant of a rich and prosperous future …. If only we can get through today’s events and the addiction to The Apocalypse.

A.Edward Moch: There are many that do believe in not only the prophecies of St. Malachy, but also Revelations and the Apocalypse. In my opinion, this may be a rush to judgement, as no man knows truly when that time shall come to pass. We should not surmise, prematurely, that such an event will be triggered by the election of a German Pope, or a Polish Pope, or any leader of the Church. We should be confident in God’s Love and Divine Mercy, for these are the signs and the symbols which have emerged from the time of John Paul II. And though the electing of Benedict XVI, on April 19th, being the anniversary of events such as Oklahoma City, Waco, the Warsaw Ghetto Rising, or ‘the Shot Heard ‘round the world” at Lexington, in Massachusetts, should not be taken lightly. It should not, however, be used as an excuse to give up on the future or to embrace some nihilistic vision of absolute chaos and destruction. The march of technology which preceeded the revolutionary events of 1848 has not ceased. The civilization of the west did not collapse after 1848, it did not collapse after The Great Blunder of 1914, it did not collapse during The Cold War or 1968, and it should not in this day and age.

Our hearts and minds must be in unison with concepts that are not out of reach of everyone: the power of the mind is the force which can direct the search for true peace and understanding. We were given this dynamic power by a loving God for a purpose, and it is up to us to understand it and act on it, without hesitation.

Patriotlad: It seems to me that the power of Satanism dwells entirely in its denial of this truth, as you have just stated it. The satanic element brings nothing new, no advances, no evolutions, no more and better things …. It is purely self-absorbing and circular, like the snake that devours its own tail.

A.Edward Moch: That’s the way I see it to. I won’t give up hope.

The image from the basement scene in "Rosemary's Baby." which displays below, is presented in the public interest and for review purposes only: Mia Farrow is on the left and Victoria Vetri ( as Angela Dorian ) is on the right.
