The Ark itself qua "sacred object" is not an object, but an objective. And this where symbol meets reality.
Symbology is an abbreviated language, a short-hand which adepts can read not only with fluency but with appreciation of the interior and unstated meaning available only to the "high degree'd." The real meaning is pure irony. Where the Vulgar take the Literal (Exoteric) as the intended meaning, the Adept knows differently, that "the difference between ideology and reality is approximately 180 degrees."
This is the proximate formula for Esotericism.
The Ark is said to have contained the stone tablets of Moses, the Decalogue, or the Ten Commandments. To whom do these commandments apply? To the Vulgar.
The Adept is ABOVE this law, the very source of "his" power. Every violation of the Law is not only permitted to him, its violation is impressed upon him: 1) Apostasy 2) Individualism 3) "Magic" (abuse of technology) 4) "Workaholism" 5) Radical anti-traditionalism 6) Assassination, genocide, warfare 7) Abandonment of family, and by extension, of nation 8) Debt slavery 9) Deception 10) Imperialist conquest...
In a healthy FREE society, the Exoteric Law would apply EQUALLY to one and all. But what happens when Esotericism is propagated and becomes "common law," and Exoteric?
The holocaustic law of the Ark is invoked. Who is punished? The Vulgar. By whom? The Adepts. Why? Because they have arrogated to themselves the powers of the Anti-Law, a "constitution to which they are not a party."
In this way, the Vulgar are "craftily" led to destroy themselves. Ordo ab Chaos.
Best...

Good points, but there was (is) existing a technological device - the Ark of the Covenant - capable of doing "magic" (at that time) things...
Spirit is searching always to find answers in the reality - not in metaphysical realms only...
