There is an arcane method of delineating eclipses that hinges on the fact that they manifest in families called "Saros Cycles". IOW, the first eclipse in a Saros family is a partial, when the Earth or Moon first barely contact the solar or lunar disc. Then, with each subsequent eclipse, the obscured portion increases until all of the disc is hidden. After a series of total eclipses in the sequence, once again the eclipse is partial. And finally, the concluding series of partial eclipses finishes with one last slight contact. The portion of the eclipsed disc that is contacted in the final instance is opposite the area contacted in the original instance. A Saros Cycle lasts many centuries, and many Saros eclipse families play out concurrently, overlapping one another.
The archaic method of interpretation is applied consistently for every eclipse in the Saros cycle: The zodiac location of the first partial eclipse is the encapsulating factor in every instance, no matter where in the zodiac the subsequent eclipses occur.
The April 8 eclipse (which occurs in 19+ Aires is in Saros Family 129, which started with a partial eclipse on 3 October 1103, in 15+ Libra (Tropical).

The April 8 eclipse is a rare "Hybrid Eclipse", wherein the path of totality includes both "total" and "annular" appearance. In the "annular" pattern, the Moon is too far from the Earth to entirely obscure the solar disc. These happen on average only about once every ten years.
Humanity does not realize the ten thousand year-long process of conditioning to the "death archetype".
