Re: WHY I LEFT THE (CATHOLIC) 'CHURCH'?
Dear Friend.
yes - at this time - the passing of the Pope and in this time of
great tribulation? no rhetoric intended I find myself reflecting a little on why
I no longer consider myself a Catholic. I would consider myself to be
spiritually aware and moving through the ascension process with and without
effort. Catholisism was for want of a better word indoctrinated into me as a
child and younger adult. I felt comforted by the presence of what I later
learned to be The Holy Spirit, at the time particularly after mass I would feel
hunger, even physical hunger permeating throughout me. I recognize that now as
the Soul in search of itself. benediction in the sixties in churches in
Australia Sunday nights required the head to be covered of we females, some of
the mass was still in Latin and I felt stirrings particularly when the incense
was burning. yes I know now that memories were being invoked, I do not think I
knew it then. I was shown the essence of the power of prayer and consequently
continued to be prayerful (usually only when in crisis) but now practice inner
attunement daily.
My parents would not/could not answer my deeper questions they were doing the
best they could at the time the priest would not/could not either. when I
overcome the loneliness of real-izing (making real) that I alone was completely
100 percent responsible for my own path, I felt so very much more empowered.
Institutions have served their agenda, systems have and continue to break-down
and this is all how it is meant to be. you and I and many others know it, see it
and watch where others see it and where many more don't see it. I thank you for
your profound posts, reaching out as you do, sharing what you know requires
sharing. Peace be with you brother. Kathy.

Re: WHY I LEFT THE (CATHOLIC) 'CHURCH'?
What is the purpose of the article posting of:
Why I Left the Catholic Church.??
As a Catholic reading this, I laugh at the strange ideas because it is clearly
written by someone who doesn't know Catholicism or common sense.
We don't worship Jesus' mother, Mary...never have or will we. Simple truth.
The Church is not against women. Women have a special dignity of their own
MOTHERHOOD(for one) and the priesthood is a special dignity for men.
If one has noticed-men and women are different. The Church celebrates this
beautiful difference. Pretending women are men and men are women is a lie of
Satan.
Ummm, hello?! How can one who aborts be considered a "faithful"
Catholic...duh, they are excommunicated post ex facto.
Abortion=having one's own baby killed for the sake of selfishness, is a
destructive act for the baby and for the mother, and for the whole human family.
The unborn victims die a horrible death, the living victims of abortion spread
this spiritual/emotional damage to their own families and to society at large.
From abortion we have a culture of death now that is spreading into adulthood
putting all of us at risk(Terri Shiavo) Show me an inexplicably angry, selfish
and self-centered woman and you may bet on it that they have experienced the
effects of abortion in one form or another.
Well, there is sooo much more. The Church is right on her teachings. The ones
unable to discipline themselves into clean living are the ones who fall away
leaving a trail of petty excuses and lies as to why they leave. This includes
those priests who messed with children...those are cases of personal failure.
They fully knew they would be called to celibacy and chose it with their full
consent. The problem was that they were homosexual when they went in...which is
caused by abuse of all sorts in childhood. These priests just don't come out of
the sky. They come from our American families, some of which are sick.
But, I take great comfort in the priesthood. I've been a cradle Catholic and
never ran across one of these bad guys. All of my pastors have been great and
holy men! There are actually less homosexual men preying on teen boys in the
priesthood than there is the any segment of society. Yep, it is much more common
in Protestantism and people of no religion, teachers, doctors, lawyers, judges
and well just about any segment.
If only all these people who think the Church is wrong would just try and live
holy for a year. Stop the porn, the lying, the pretending, the stealing, the
illicit sex, the affairs, the sloth, the gluttony... all of it.
Then, try praying, going to Mass to receive the precious Body and Blood of
Jesus...there whole world would change. The pall of death and misery would fall
from their lives and their bodies would heal...their soul would rejoice in the
Lord and His mercy.
Where sin is-God isn't. We will all be judged according to our behaviors, it is
clear in the Bible. Oh one more thing-I'm glad St. Paul didn't read that
article. He chose to be celibate and advised his followers to do the same if
they could hack it. Is he a child molester too?
Ignorant & foolish is the man (Hans Küng) who wrote that article.
