Adolfo de Jesus Constanzo,a 26-year-old Cuban-American bisexual cult leader and male model, managed a drug smuggling ring in Matamoros, Mexico. He and Sara Villarreal Aldrete,who served as his 24-year-old girlfriend and high priestess of the drug cult, were very successful in the drug trade because of their habit of torturing and ritually sacrificing their competition.

Through human sacrifice, as Constanzo preached, they would be invisible to their enemies. Constanzo himself was fond of wearing necklaces made out of human vertebrae for protection. On one occasion, one of the cult members got into a fight in a bar and pulled a severed finger out his pocket to scare away his attackers.

Their operation ran afoul when they decided what they needed was to kill a Anglo (gringo). They abducted Mark Kilroy, an American college student on Spring break with his college buddies, from the streets of Matamoros and killed him at their border ranch called "Rancho Santa Elena."

The disappearance of Mark Kilroy triggered an aggressive police search on both sides of the Texas border. A month after Kilroy's baffling disappearance, American and Mexican authorities were alerted to the heinous occult-related rituals practiced at the Rancho Santa Elena location, a bare 6 miles from the Rio Grande and the American border. As law enforcement descended on Rancho Santa Elena, the body of Mark Kilroy was identified.

He had been viciously executed, his legs amputated and body parts used in magick potions that his drug-running killers believed would protect them from police bullets and arrest.His heart, genitals and spinewere used to make a "magick stew", which was eaten!

Within a few days, the dismembered bodies of 14 other men and boys were recovered and several members of the cult were arrested. Previously no one cared about the missing drug dealers figuring there were victims of a drug war. However, once Mark Kilroy was sacrificed, the group was forced into hiding.

By the time the bodies in Matamoros were found Constanzo, Aldrete and their gang of cannibals fled an apartment in Mexico City. The investigation and the result is history, as explicitly and factually described in "Hell Ranch.
