Emergency stay issued in Schiavo case until 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Don't be quick to thank Greer. The stay issued by Judge George Greer calls for Greer to read a Second District Court of Appeal mandate to Terri's parents at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. That mandate allows Terri's husband, Michael, to legally remove her feeding tube at any time. Greer doesn't want anything to go wrong with the killing. This has been HIS case for years and Felos has been Michael's attorney for years.
According to the Associated Press, Michael Schiavo's attorney, George Felos, said Michael will remove the tube as soon as legally permissible.
"We are begging and pleading with the legislators and Governor Bush to save Terri from being murdered in cold blood," Bob Schindler said in a brief statement Tuesday.
Schiavo, 41, has been in what some doctors call a persistent vegetative state since 1990, and is being kept alive by the feeding tube.
The Schindlers' attorney, David Gibbs, said at a news conference Monday that there are legal motions that still need to be heard, such as removing Michael Schiavo as Terri's guardian.
"We believe there are a number of important legal issues that need to be resolved before actions are taken to kill Terri," Gibbs said.
