MISSILE OR CAR BOMB - Reading the Smoke Signals *PIC*
One of the best indications, to my mind, that the bomb that killed Rafik Hariri was an air-to-ground penetration bomb of 1 or 2 tons is the smoke plume that rose from the event.
It is a light sand colored plume at the top. It is sand colored because the detonation occurred in the sand under the street of Hariri's motorcade. The first thing that was thrown up into the air was the soil, or sand, in which the detonation occurred.
The smoke from a true car bomb would have been darker; almost blackish. In the photo below you will notice how the color of the plume changes with time.
