HERE AT RUMOR MILL NEWS WE TRY TO OFFER AS MUCH FREEDOM OF THE PRESS, AND FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION FOR OUR NEWS AGENTS, AS WE POSSIBLY CAN:
Unfortunately, it is also true that this News Agency is a part of the alternative media on the Internet, which is both new and drastically undercapitalized across the spectrum of websites.
The following analysis and comments are provided to illustrate to our valued Readers and visitors just how this undercapitalization affects our ability to get to the 'core' or center of many important stories and issues now current: remember, all of our News Agents are volunteers, and almost all of the revenue generated by this site goes to pay its operating costs --
THE UNBEARABLE FRUSTRATION OF BEING RIGHT
Three years ago, through a combination of events which I can only ascribe to 'serendipity,' or divine Providence, it was my good fortune to meet with and interview an amateur cryptographer, a New York resident who had served his country as a soldier and in Special Forces. At the urging of some mutual friends, this veteran had obtained some exact copies of the controversial "Ransom Note," handwritten, pertaining to the case of Jon Benet Ramsey. In the beginning he was looking for anomalies in the way the note was written, wondering if there were any clues to the dastardly murder of this charming young girl in the way the letters were formed and written.
That proved to be a somewhat unproductive line of investigation.
However, along the way in that process, he began to wonder -- again, at the urging of his friends -- if the sequence of words was crucial to the understanding of the murder. From there he proceeded to do a kind of crypto-analysis of the "Ransom Note" looking for word-patterns which repeated when isolated by boxing whole words on one line with one word on a line either above or below it. He used a common technique from word puzzles, relying mostly on L formations in the hand-written text. To say he spent hours and hours examining the document and testing his theories is to say entirely too little. The work invested by this amateur cryptographer was enormous.
After almost a year of this examination, and again with the help of some loyal friends who believed in his effort, which was now becoming an obsession, this veteran came to a stunning conclusion: in the late autumn of 2001 he concluded that the deciphering of the "Ransom Note" using the methods noted produced several undeniable messages encrypted in it. These messages, in his opinion, clearly established certain facts about the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey:
1. The girl was most likely drugged with a fast-acting hypnotic at some point in the evening preceeding her ritualistic murder; one or both of her parents may have been drugged, too, at least enough to make them 'malleable' and slow to react --
2. The girl was abused sexually, tortured and then murdered by one man with the help of another man, who had to spend some of the time operating a video camera, for the purpose of making a record of the ritual murder; he clearly was involved in a voluntary way --
3. The man who murdered Jon Benet Ramsey had killed other women and girls before and had sexually abused and tortured at least some of these victims, too: further, he was an active neo-Nazi and well-acquainted with many others like him in Colorado --
4. The videotape of this ritual murder was handed off to a transfer agent living or working in Florida, a person with connections to the neo-Nazi underground on the one side and to Osama bin Laden on the other side --
5. Osama bin Laden paid ten million dollars US for the original videotape of the execution and ritual murder of Jon Benet Ramsey, after being warned that he could not 'welch' on the deal --
6. The exchange of the videotape for a key to unlock the funds was conducted in south-central Florida.
The murder ritual was begun while it was still "Christmas day" in Boulder, Colorado. It followed a social gathering of some notable persons. The ritual killer was probably acquainted with the Ramsey family in some manner, although probably not a friend.
Additionally, the veteran who did this cryptographic analysis all on his own, felt certain that some of the really obscure word combinations in the "Ransom Note" contained references to the planning for the attacks on the World Trade Center. He was not sure that any of them had any references to the attack on the Pentagon, however, also conducted on September 11th, 2001.
With the help of his friends and supporters, this veteran and amateur code-breaker went to both New York media organizations and to New York State investigators who were then engaged in checking out almost any leads concerning the massacres of 9/11. He got the shuffle from the investigators, and most of the media types considered him to be "irrelevant" because he didn't have a college degree or what they considered to be the right credentials. As if a combat veteran doesn't possess special knowledge of human nature, and cannot think for himself.
Along the way, however, he was able to make a connection to a local Federal Bureau of Investigation agent operating on Long Island, who was willing to listen for a while. Additionally, when he and I began to compare notes on the murder of the Ramsey child and the murder of Suzanne Jovin on December 4th, 1998, he came to certain conclusions about her killing which he felt showed the influence of the Al Qaeda and their neo-Nazi allies.
This was information that I took, personally, to police investigators representing Yale, which has its own university police force, and one representing the City of New Haven, which had the jurisdiction over her murder. They were presented with a scenario for her killing which was dramatically different from the one which had been pursued for two years or more, with approximately zero positive results. The investigators promised to talk to the amateur cryptographer and to either send that discussion to the local FBI office as a transcript or to take it to them on their own. They felt that there was a mutual jurisdiction problem -- there in the late autumn of 2001 -- if they publically pursued the question of Jovin's murder being ordered by Osama bin Laden or by someone in his Al Qaeda network.
Months went by. Nothing ever came of this extensive, two-hour conversation with the police investigators, who were told explicitly that I was an alumni of Yale, a strong supporter of community outreach and volunteer programs for New Haven, at Yale, and that as a journalist I was definitely interested in both the story and the disposition of the reward for solving Jovin's murder. Nothing ever happened. No one from the FBI ever called on me for additional comments, other than the ones I gave to the New Haven and Yale police.
Sources which I cultivated in the Connecticut news media told me, in the following year or more, that sending requests for information to the FBI, concerning Suzanne Jovin, was a fruitless endeavor. They never had anything to say about a supposedly on-going investigation. As time passed it became clear that the New Haven Police Department ( NHPD ) was less than interested in solving her murder, despite having accumulated some 4000 + pages of information. They had done a number of interviews, speaking to almost everyone who was a friend of Jovin, a colleague, and most of her instructors or professors at Yale itself.
Jovin was killed in 1998. Her murder was still newsworthy in 2001, and again in 2003 it got another look by the news media locally because it was the fifth anniversary, which means something in media parlance ( something which I've never been able to figure out ). But as December 4th, 2004 came and went with nary a mention of the bubbly and attractive Yale senior, who was raised in Germany, and her murder, in the local news media ... it seemed that the Jovin case was now stone-cold.
RETURNING TO THE JON BENET RAMSEY CASE
Then, in an informative posting by Rayelan, it was noted that the original line of 'blame the Ramseys' for their daughter's murder has now -- officially -- been discounted:
8 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF JON BENET'S MURDER - DNA RULES OUT PARENTS
http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?noframes;read=62045
In the past few years, certainly since they no longer had O.J. Simpson to kick around all the time, the tabloid news weeklies operated by the American Media group from various offices in Florida, have used the Ramsey murder whenever possible to garner sales with inflammatory headlines. In many ways, the American media papers -- The Globe, The Sun, National Enquirer and to a lesser degree, The Star -- pilloried the Ramseys without mercy. They treated them almost the same way they treated Scott Peterson, although Peterson's incredible blunderings made him seem to be the perfect "dummy husband" and perfect to abuse with impunity. More to the point, these news weeklies generate enormous sales and a steady cash flow to their parent, American Media. They can afford heavy fees for the best lawyers and they can defend themselves against almost any libel suits and they can settle any suits 'out of court,' where it is clear they might come out of a jury trial as a big loser.
Rumor Mill News, despite its rapid growth, doesn't have that luxury or such deep pockets. It would not be wise for us to name the names of the police officials in New Haven and at Yale who were alerted to the likely connection between the ritual murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the stabbing death of Suzanne Jovin.
It would be improvident for us to name the names and to discuss the allegations presented to us concerning who had the most to gain by the murder of Laci Rocha Peterson, despite the amazing story our source had to tell. And his willingness to have it all set up in his words, to give Rumor Mill News a cushion against libel or slander, with regard to the Important Political Persons that he named. Simply put, we cannot afford to be involved in any kind of an action -- a civil action -- for libel or slander because the legal costs are so prohibitive.
MIND CONTROL EXPERIMENTS, PEDOPHILES AND SATANIC CULTS
Where we have seen and reported on what we have learned about secret mind-control experiments, the sometime use of Satanic cults to masquerade the process of these experiments, and the resulting damage to the victims, including sexually abused young children -- we have not been able to name all the names we do know. We dare not even discuss them in the RMN Lounge, because certain court cases have shown that private, internal communications done inside of a company or business can be made the subjects of libel or slander suits !!!
We are now reminded of a certain progression of events in almost all of these controversial crimes --
Jon Benet Ramsey is murdered and there are clear indicators of torture and possible sexual abuse: after the initial shock, local investigators admit to being baffled; then comes the tip or the leak or the rumor, and The Usual Suspects are pinned down in the police spotlight. In this case, it was Jon Benet Ramsey's parents and then her family. Soon enough the tabloid news media get their hooks into the story and soon after that, the 'accused' might as well be in prison or dead. They are tried and found guilty in the "court of public opinion."
Suzanne Jovin is murdered and dumped on a street corner in New Haven, two miles from anywhere she was likely to be on a mild Friday in December. She is killed with seventeen stabbling blows to her head and neck, on Saint Barbara's feast day, having just completed a revised draft of her Senior term paper. She had been researching Osama bin Laden. Police are initially baffled by the murder and although they rule out a random street killing, and drug activity, and her on-going romantic relationship with another Yale student ... they are under pressure to get results. Then, following a supposed reliable tip and an unethical leak to the local news media, the New Haven police confirm that they are suspicious of Jovin's instructor in her political science seminar, one James Van De Velde, himself a Yale graduate and U.S. Naval Reserve.
The local media go tabloid on her instructor, despite the fact that he was initially cooperative with the police, despite the fact that there was almost no motive present for him to kill her, despite the fact that the pathetic leaks from the police begin to dry up after the hysteria about him peaks. Furthermore, despite having a good record as an instructor and student advisor at Yale, Mr. Van De Velde gets pilloried in the local press and is summarily dropped from a graduate program in media and journalism at Quinnipiac College, with no explanation or cause. His spring semester classes at Yale are cancelled with no explanation or real cause, as he has not been indicted nor even brought before a grand jury investigation !! His contract is paid through the end of the academic year and he is forced to pretend that there's any real work for him to do as the months tick by. Worse yet, the grieving parents and the sister of Suzanne Jovin -- in their anger and pain -- lash out against the University for supposedly being unable to properly evaluate the psychology of their instructors in advance. They have accepted the basic assumptions of those who leaked the scurrilous accusations against Van De Velde in the weeks following Jovin's death, and therefore the story becomes centered on the fact that THEY THINK HE IS GUILTY. Without there ever having been a charge made, or an information brought, Van De Velde is cashiered and his promising career as an academic and an expert on terrorism and politics is dashed.
Crushed would be more like it. Not a scrap of evidence was presented to show any links between Jovin and Van De Velde other than those inherent in their relationship as senior student and thesis advisor. Nobody ever heard him say anything inappropriate to her, he was never seen 'courting her,' or trying to cozy up to the younger woman for a sexual or romantic liason. There was no physical evidence to show that he had been with her on the evening of her death, but he also had no alibi witness to prove he wasn't cruising around looking for her in that last forty-five minutes of her life. When the romance angle failed to strike pay-dirt, the police -- through their professional leakers -- tried to insinuate that Van De Velde had a motive to kill Jovin because she was angry with him about her senior thesis. Someone floated the idea she was terrified of him .... Again, nothing known about Suzanne Jovin and nothing she said to her considerable numbers of friends about her studies backs up that assertion. But Van De Velde's professional life and career are ruined just the same. He might as well be in a prison cell, for the damage done to his ambitions has cancelled out years worth of good job reviews and service to his country as a Naval Reserve officer.
Anyone who doesn't seen parallels to the conviction of murder lodged against Scott Peterson hasn't been paying attention.
The difference in the Peterson case is fairly striking -- for over the months it came to be very clear that this guy was a Cad and a Bounder, and that if he loved Laci he didn't have a real good way of showing it -- and yet on the face of it, the case against Peterson is extremely weak.
The disappearance of Laci Peterson on Christmas eve in 2002 had police baffled at first, but in this instance, they turned their internal machineries to work on scrutinizing Scott Peterson immediately. Tips came in and tips were discarded and people who said they saw Laci and her dog walking were ignored: thousands turned out to help with all aspects of the search for the lovely Laci, and hundreds really spent days and evenings searching. Then things began to fall apart for Scott Peterson when his paramour, Amber Frey of Fresno, ratted him out in public. The discovery of the mutilated corpse of Laci Peterson and the unborn child she had created with Scott sealed the deal, and police investigators laid charges against her husband.
Nevertheless, as many other writers have noted, there was no eye witness to the murder of Laci, no one to explain any of the crucial elements: how she was abducted ( if she was taken while on a walk ), how she was killed if she was not abducted, when precisely the time of death occurred, what means were used to snuff out her life, and what forensic evidence was discovered to show exactly where she was killed by Scott. Nor was any forensic evidence of any kind presented to explain exactly how the unborn baby, Conner, ended up in the water whole and intact whereas his mother was badly mutiliated.
And once the orange suit of a prisoner in custody got handed to Scott Peterson, his life was effectively over, and done: the regular media was a little more restrained than the tabloid news operations but only just a little. He was convicted in the court of public opinion before he ever had one minute in a court with a competent jury empanelled to hear his case.
And then when they did finally get a retired judge to come out of retirement to handle the Peterson trial, and after both the prosecution and the defense showed serious streaks of incompetence, and after hours upon hours of testimony, when it appeared that there was not going to be a lock-step verdict drafted in the jury deliberations .... two jurors were kicked off the empanelled body, including the intelligent and well-educated jury foreman !!! What followed that was a modern mob scene, with all the elements of a classic 'necktie party' or lynching in the offing. Peterson was convicted for being a Cad and 'high, wide and handsome,' and unfaithful. Them's the facts.
__________________________________________________________________________
Eight years have passed since some persons unknown grabbed a six year old girl, abused her, tortured her and murdered her -- and the tabloid media spent oodles of ink and talent on the search for a scapegoat, or in this case two scapegoats, her parents --
Six years have passed since some person or persons unknown grabbed a popular and spunky Yale co-ed, carried her into a neighborhood two miles distant from her campus, and stabbed her to death; all on Saint Barbara's feast day, and on the day she turned in a paper on Osama bin Laden, well-researched but probably not controversial.
Two years have passed since a lovely, spunky, popular young substitute teacher disappeared from her home in Modesto, leaving behind her faithful dog, who was found running loose; this bright and beautiful young woman was eventually found in such a condition as to break the heart of even a jaded investigator, and yet nothing about her dismemberment proves that her husband is the one who killed her. Her unborn son was found fully formed and whole.
In the Ramsey case, the suggestions of neo-Nazi and Satanic cult involvement have been scotched by the mainstream media and laughed off by "experts" who are "in the know."
In the Jovin case, the suggestions of neo-Nazi links to a murder ordered to protect Al Qaeda well before 9/11/2001 have been scotched by official investigators and mainstream media types as well, laughed off as irrelevant by "experts" who are in big and important jobs.
In the Peterson case, the jury has judged Scott Peterson guilty and ordered him to the confines of Death Row based on his obvious lack of emotion and his arrogant or withdrawn attitude in court: they did not send him over because anyone placed a weapon in his hands, not because anyone saw him kill his pregnant wife, not because it was for sure that he transported her lifeless body to the marina, not because anyone could be sure they saw him dump her wrapped body into the Bay, not because he confessed or left bloody footprints in their immaculate house. The jury believed the fiction that he was more interested in shacking up with a thin blonde, one he had just met, who had an infant that was not his own child but who would need support from him, picking her over his trophy wife and their soon-to-be born son.
Scott Peterson was convicted for being so selfish that he wanted some other man's child to be his charge, some other man's former paramour to be his new companion, and lover, so selfish that it would be worthwhile to risk everything to get rid of the child he knew was his child for all the variables of a new romance.
This narcissistic fellow, with the Hefner Playboy inside of him, was more dedicated to these new pleasures which could easily evaporate. Despite being successful and well-liked, he was unwilling to face a future which would easily grant him the pride and long-standing rewards that come from having a beautiful wife, who keeps a beautiful house, who has her own money and expensive jewelry, and who is about to deliver their own beautiful son.
How could he bear up under that ?
OK. That's the ticket ...!! Now to buy some beachfront property in Arizona, on the theory California is going to float off and over to New Guinea, and soon ....
Below, the precise location on East Rock in New Haven where Suzanne Jovin was found, mortally wounded, on December 4, 1998:
