Hello!
I thought the analysis about the whole news coverage thing being "agitrop" was wrong. People really ARE getting upset about every vestige about our Countries Heritage being stripped from all Public Places.
I don't care if everyone in the world thinks it is weird, they need to either cancel the first amendment and start prohibiting all mention of God and or the Founding Fathers in School, or get over it.
Again, can you please cite the law which states religion, God, or the Founding Fathers Documents cannot be cited in a School.
YOU CAN'T!
Do you know why I know you can't?
Because there ISN'T one!
You all can think it is as weird as you would like, but if I were all of you I would get your Congress Critters to change the first amendment or something, because as it stands now, there is absolutely NOTHING keeping teachers from teaching the kids in their charge where this Country came from.
The first amendment stands for more than being able to tranfer pornography over the internet, or burning the American Flag wherever you please.
This is what it says:
AMENDMENT I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
That Congress cannot make a law respecting an esablishment of Religion. So don't worry! The Fundies won't be taking over any time soon! They also cannot make a law PROHIBITING THE FREE EXCERCISE THEREOF. So all of these wanna be dictators in the school systems, and the ACLU and all the judges REALLY need to get their reading glasses on and try to at least pay some lip serviceto the Constitution, because people are getting REALLY FED UP!
I am just one of em!!!!!
It's starting to feel pretty constricting here in the good ol USA. People are starting to wake up and smell the Matrix!
THANK GOD!
Yes, thank God!!!!!!
Take care :)

: Bonnie,
: I agree that the CA schools are horrible; home-schooling is
: good.
: *Part* of that problem, and I believe an extension and
: manifestation of the roots of the problem, would be any
: weirdo teacher pushing his/her warped conceptions under the
: cloak of (for example) studying the Constitution or the
: Declaration of Independence.
: Now, that can open a complex discussion, because we have
: everybody claiming that the other guys conceptions are
: weird (or worse). Maybe that's why it has gotten to the
: point where many don't even want "God" mentioned
: in schools; to protect their children from weird
: conceptions.
: BUT my post was not intended to discuss that complex problem.
: (1) Some people want to make it more complex, confusing and
: divisive.
: (2) Some are just ignorant and struggling.
: (3) Some want to find a good answer to it and get back on
: track.
: I'm in the 2-3 area. I believe people in the "1"
: area planned and promoted the "news" story.
: My post was about carefully-planned, intentional emotional
: manipulation. Yours is about the sorry state of the
: California schools.
: I do not disagree with what you say about the schools.
: You say you disagree with the analysis in my post. I
: understand that to mean you disagree with school
: administrators stopping the teacher from handing out
: literature promoting his version of religion. If the
: administrators had stopped him from promoting radical
: fundamentalist Islam, would you have agreed with them doing
: that?
: I am not sure about the California law, but my post was not
: intended to defend the school administrators. It was to
: point out the emotional manipulation taking place via the
: presenting of the false report, and the carefully-timed
: placement of the report.
: Bonnie (and readers), we have to be careful. There are those
: who are intentionally seeking to manipulate and divide us.

: I will NOT SUBMIT my childs mind for the State to WARP AND
: TWIST WITH HATRED!
: Have to disagree with this analysis.
: And please show me the law that states Schools cannot talk
: about God. Please cite the book, where it is in the
: Constitution or otherwise so that I may see it for myself.
: Thanks!
