When we wake up each morning we check for indications of how the day is starting, how it's likely to play out, how's the weather, etc.
That's divinatory practice. It's a universal practice. We get our GUIDANCE through divinatory practice.
Unless we do our diving, we'll put the right sock on the wrong foot.
'Calendar Instinct' = spontaneous urge to track changes in the environment.

Even if the Dreamspell calendar were to fall from favor, we still have Arguelles to thank for inducing us to be mindful of the factor that frames our experience. (Even when we 'dream' in alternate timelines, we bring 'that' experience back into 'this timeframe' and deal with our memory of 'other time' right here in this one.
For a few years now I've referred to Dreamspell as 'ignoring Leap-Day'. That's not very precise language, but it's my best for now. And suggestions are appreciated.
: In his own e-mail newsletter, Calleman advises that the period
: December 4, 2004 through November 28, 2005 is "The
: FOURTH Day" in a particular cycle.
: In this case a "Day" is the same as a Mayan 'tun',
: which is a period not of 365 days but of 360 days.
: I note that the dates Calleman mentions are approximately the
: same ones, that the Dreamspell shows with regard to the
: Photon Band. The Dreamspell indicates Earth will be
: entering the Photon Band, on (or about) those two dates,
: and leaving the Photon Band on a date right in the middle.
Reckoning that anchors our proximity to the 'photon band' seeks to correlate the physical environment with a calendar.
This concern about linking our time-reckoning to our environment is put into contrast by the fact that the Maya did not seek or reckon by a linkage between their environment and their timeline.
This distinction hasn't been recognized. I'm seeing it because we've been looking at the Dreamspell, Gregorian, and Mayan calendars 'all-at-once'.
: Calleman speaks of "a pulsation" during the FOURTH
: Day. If that's directly related to the Photon Band, the
: pulsation will be "on" for about 180 days,
: "off" for 180 days, then "on" again (or
: so I gather :).
Isn't Calleman a physicist? He treats the 'photon band' idea as having veracity. That idea describes changes - and a protracted process of change - in our celestial energy environment. Our awareness of consciousness and characteristics in our environment would be slated for important changes. We would want to do some reconnaissance if our indicators proved accurate on an ongoing basis.
But we don't need a 'photon band' as the change-factor. Proportionally huge energy increases throughout this planetary system have been documented by orthodox science. And our Sun is 'popping'. We don't need to prove that something is causing change. We are observing this great change - 'living through it'.
So often we read that the present solar system is unstable to an extreme degree. One would wonder: What miraculous factor maintains the present arrangement? Is another re-arrangement impending? What exactly happened in the last series of shifts?
What's coming up just ahead? What's the timing?
Each of us can consult our favorite oracles ('where's my flashlight') and compare notes.
