This election was stolen, but what is more important for Americans to understand is that the whole democratic franchise has been stolen.
What part of democracy don't you understand?
In a democracy the people elect their leaders. In a democratic election the people vote - and count their votes. Anything else is a sham election.
When citizen election judges are denied the right to count the votes in the precinct on Election Night in front of the public and openly, the democratic franchise has been lost.
As Tom Stoppard wrote, "It's not the voting that is democracy; it's the counting."
Below, I address your arguments:
Quote: None of the major news organizations gave "provisional ballots" a total of more than 200,000 !!
Bollyn Replies: Wrong. NPR reported on Wednesday morning that the number was between 170,000 and 250,000.
Quote: It is unlikely that every single provisional ballot in Ohio will break for John F. Kerry.
Bollyn: True, but I dare say most of those votes are Democratic.
Quote: Besides, if "stealing votes" or misrepresenting voting lists or phantom voters are the keys to this analysis, then only a fool would allow his opponent to STEAL the Electors for Illinois without making a move to counter-act that THEFT somewhere else.
Bollyn: The first theft is the fact that private companies have stolen the democratic franchise. In democratic elections the citizen is key. If citizens are not allowed to count the votes openly in each precinct across the nation then you cannot call the election "democratic." That is the basis of democracy.
Secondly, the theft of the election is not as blatant as former elections in Cook County, for example. The overall strategy was to create the 50-50 split across the nation and then focus on one state as the key swing state.
Companies like ES&S and Diebold, run by the Urosevich brothers, counted more than 80 percent of the vote nationally. Vote fraud does not just happen in Ohio, or Chicago. It happens all across America.
Please tell me when the last time you watched election judges count the votes and sign off on the precinct tally.
Perhaps you don't know that the only official tally from our elections is the precinct tally. This is supposed to be authenticated by the election judges when they sign off on the tally. When a machine replaces this essential part of the election - the vote count - the election is no longer authentic.
That is a fact that is basic to democracy and something I find most Americans are ignorant of.
The 50-50 polling strategy made the race more exciting - and believable. States that are strongly partisan, such as Illinois, do not qualify as good candidates for the "swing state" that would throw the election one way or the other.
Ohio, on the other hand, was an ideal state to play the role of the kingmaker state. As I wrote, most Ohio voters vote on "end-to-end" systems provided by ES&S or Triad GSI of Xenia, Ohio. Both of these companies are very pro-Republican.
