Astrology Today:
November 2nd - Election in Libra Jupiter - on a Cancer Moon
Here is the line up of planets on November 2nd, so you see what type of aspects will mirror the election in the USA. Notwithstanding what we feel about the (sur- or un-)reality of this election, the chart of the time when the election is over shows us a very interesting picture with many possible interpretations.
The event takes place within 5-6 days of a total lunar (Taurus fullmoon 28th October on the Taurus Node) eclipse, which is in quintile formation - see Booth and his love of 72 degree angles. The alignment is faraway enough of the eclipse to be considered outside of the influence, but still, something will not be altogether very clear about this event. The black moon is in Cancer also, as is the moon itself.
It is a cautionary event, and personal safety, family propserity, and national security are the Cancer themes of this election, remember also of a nation and of a sitting executive of this nation who are both born in Cancer.
Two important Cancer planets mark the election event: Saturn and the moon, i.e. authority and the feelings, government and the children it has to feed. This is why I would intuitively hand the result to the existing administration. The moon ticks over Bush's sun sign degree early in the day of the election, but in his 12th house, so he will probably stay indoors, or maybe hidden.
Sun in the 11th degree of Scorpio trine Moon in Cancer. (advantage to Bush) - Moon traverses all of Cancer from November 1st to november 3rd, making pretty good aspects to other planets. It enters Cancer at on the 1st, of November, all saints' day. All day 2nd, TODAY, the moon is firmly in Cancer, its own sign, in rulership -- might people stay at home and not vote?
Main aspects of moon are square to Venus and to Jupiter before dawn 2nd November on US territory; then trine to sun at sunrise, very nice day. Only last aspect is Mercury trine Saturn 1pm EST, another good aspect no doubt, lending some solidity to the day, and leading also to accountability...
Mercury at 27 Scorpio trine to Saturn 27 Cancer, I feel here we will see a clear result that will last the time it was meant for. It is a serious but well aspected alignment between an investigative and cynical messenger planet in solid alignment to the theme of NEED FOR SAFETY Saturn in Cancer, BTW on the return position of Bush, more advantage to Bush, I feel.
Venus at 5 Libra conjunct Juipter and trine Neptune in Aquarius, that is almost too much of a good thing to be true, and I feel somehow the day carries a peaceful or upbeat quality, some will think the economy is about to undergo a renaissance, a short-lived one to be sure; Venus-Jupiter in Libra can be read with a stretch of imagination as the twin daughters of the sitting executive. Can also be seen as everything mirroring everything, until we no longer perceive what is real or inverted...
Now the indecisive Mars at 24 Libra is squared by Saturn, that could spell trouble or at least uncertainty, as well as things out of balance, if a balance can be found - to be seen in a few days. Mars will be visible in line of sight of fixed star Spica, honor, right in the midst of 4 birth positions of Bush's 3rd house of friends and relatives, surely empowering him quite a bit.
The result could nevertheless be contested, due to Mars-Saturn square, indecisive action held in check by lord of time and reality - or at least be a very narrow outcome. I do however NOT see a recount, because Mercury is direct, and in binding aspect to Saturn, the authority... Mercury was stationing retro last election night in 2000, which is WHY I predicted the recount in 1999. Some rules of star science are hard and fast!
Uranus 3 Pisces retro in uncertain 150 degree aspect to Jupiter and Venus, the populace might not see clear that day at all. Neptune 13 Aquarius. Pluto 21 Sagittarius. Node 2nd Taurus degree. Uranus thus completes a grand water trine between cancer moon and scorpio sun, which can be read as the populace is embedded and merged into this action.
The moon will also trine Mercury later in the night when they count the votes, so the result should actually be accepted. Moon will oscult Saturn only on the 3rd, about 24 hours after the ballot boxes close, at which point the heaviness of the result will set in on the nation and the world. And yet by the 4th and 5th when Moon moves into Leo, there will be celebrations for those who feel there is something to celebrate.
The reason I see great potential (potential that is!) for the Sagittarius candidate John Kerry is because his chart also gets touched in a very favorable way by the Venus / Jupiter position. Other aspects of the day do not favor Kerry much. Could it be that his LIBRA wife (Venus) has a match making ability in the final days? I am not so sure about this.
The moon and Saturn (and Pluto's position opposite the birth Mars of the USA) suggest in 2004 that as a nation founded on 7/4/1776, the USA will NOT change leadership today, but rather solidify its existing establishment. ((Now should Kerry be elected against my inherent prediction, this would mean, as we know very well, that it makes no difference who "wins" the "election". ))
Libra implies choices, beauty, balance, harmony, and PEACE. With so many (three) planets in Libra during the night ahead this might also be interpreted as people who do not know whom to choose because maybe there really is no choice, and due to the aspect to Neptune in Aquarius, I feel we can assume safely that the whole thing is one big beautiful glamourous ILLUSION, or an inversion, don't you agree?
