I am a volunteer for President Bush. I also support other candidates and have volunteered for the Defense of Marriage measure which is on Oregon's ballot.
I have a W04 sticker on both vehicles. Portland, Oregon is predominately democratic. IMO those who have been in power there have mostly made a mess!
I can tell you not about candidates but what is happening around the Portland, Or. area. Mostly Bush lawn signs and republican candidates signs are being taken or vandalized.
In fact, I was informed by the Defense of Marriage Coalition that nearly 7,000 Defense of Marriage signs have either been stolen or vandalized.
I have a lawn sign in my yard. Knowing the oddness of this election we put it up close to our front windows in the barked area.
I live SW of Portland. I can tell you that many, many signs have been stolen and vandalized within the last week. In fact, one neighbor actually placed a sign in essence which said this:
"Allow me to express my views on my property."
The tone here in Oregon is changing from those who don't believe the other side should have a voice.
Tonight I had to drive into Portland for an event. I actually saw a driver behind me write down my plate number. Many of us are on red alert.
In fact, there are some of us that are urging people to remember, if Kerry should win somehow, we are still Americans and will continue to be positive activist.
However, some of my friends and I are really praying for our President. And, as I blogged one place if our Lord doesn't come back by election day I am voting for President Bush.
Some conspiratists say that the government is taking our rights away. I don't know about that. However, if it is true, than obviously they have hired a lot of people in Oregon to attempt to shut us up. We will not! We must not!
One other thought while I chatting with you R., my question I am raising is this:
"Where are all the anti-war demonstrators around the world? Why are they not demonstrating on behalf of the 26,000-27,000 children who die each day around the world because of corrupt governments who deny them good water and food. Where is the stand for the helpless etc.
After this election has settled, I am calling for the good people around the world to take a stand. Telling them don't wait for the government idiots, we are the government. Guess they were sleeping in civic class.
I am very appreciative of the work and service you provide. I wish I had funds to assist you. My husband and I are both unemployed, not our choice. His benefits have expired long ago, and because of how they count the quarters here in Oregon, what the little I get doesn't even make the water bill. Oh well, we are still ok. We have a strong faith and experience miracles every day. We have been tested as Job yet we prevail.
In the event I win the lottery, don't hold your breathe of course because we know the odds are not likely I will contribute. However, I want you to know I appreciate and am grateful you do what you can.
