From a reader:
"It is unclear to Indymedia how and why a server that is outside the US jurisdiction can be seized by US authorities."
It is crystal clear how US authorities can seize private property outside of their jurisdiction. They have been doing it within the territories of the States for years.
It's a two step process known as "complaisance" - a willingness to please, and "complicity" - action in or as if in a wrongfull act.

07 Oct 2004 Over the past couple of months, New York City has opened a gulag for political dissenters, the Defense Department has deployed a spy blimp over Washington, DC, and federal agents have raided and shut down (at least) two radio stations, one in California and one in North Carolina.
Now, Indymedia's harddrives have been seized by the FBI. Could this be the beginning of the FBI's so-called "October Plan"? Is the fascist take-over at hand?
I have long said that if the fascist take-over really takes root, Indymedia will be the first to go. The IMCs are the best and sometimes only source of information regarding protests and direct action. If Bush were to steal the election, Indymedia would be an invaluable resource for calling and coordinating civil disobedience and direct action.
Over the next month, I worry that our worst fears might be coming true. I hope not, but it is hard to deny reality.

"...On the site wer 2 photos of undercover police. The G8 police force unit officially had been dissolved in December 2003; however, it took up service again, in smaller numbers -- two inspectors. These inspectors view films and photographs received from informers and from other police officers. They come to the streets of Geneva where they plan on finding "law-breakers/hooligans."
They take new photographs - perhaps to make a database of activists because they think that they can be the future "law-breakers/hooligans" of future riots in Geneva? ..."

Now, 'blowing identities' is really a cause for closing down sites. As you know, this 'screening identities of citicens'- is an exclusive right of the government, not for the peaople. They should simply continue buying stuff, watching movies, go to Superbowels and pay their taxes. So why should YOU be interested in this childish stuff???
Let the FEMA and all other 'agencies' alone, 'playing' with this....
