So now I'm a Jew, eh? ;-) My Catholic mother would love that! Actually and in all honesty, I was raised very strict Irish Catholic. Indeed, I was raised in a very prejudiced way and Jews were the scourge of the earth. (I don't think Catholics are taught this today. (Judgement is such a really 'dumb' thing.) Catholicism is a religion of Fear. I grew up and realized I was just tired of being terrorized, so one day, I quit! COLD TURKEY. After years of daily mass and rosary, it wasn't easy. Then I had the good fortune to realize that there were nice Jews in the world just as their were nice presbyterians, irish, french, mormons, etc. That people had to be judged by what they did; not by their nationality nor religion.
I think I remember the post where you got the Jewish idea from. In fact, my greatgrandfather was Jewish, (My great-grandmother, a Huegenot(sp)of all things!) though my family would never discuss it or admit to it. He was a very special human being who homesteaded this great land and believed that everybody had to be responsible for themselves. I'm kind of proud to be a big mixture of nationalities, something I think I share with a lot of Americans.
Enjoyed your post! Even with your 'pricklies'...
Thanks!
