'BIRTHDAY-PRESENT' FROM NK(+FOREIGN NATION?) TO SYRIA!
Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, Friday sent a congratulatory message to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Syria's Baath Arab Socialist Party, on his 39th birthday. The strong friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries are invariably developing on good terms to meet the common desire of the two peoples, the message said, extending full support and solidarity to the friendly Syrian government and people in their just cause of protecting dignity, achieving unity and solidarity of the Arab nations and seeking a fair and comprehensive solution to the Mid-east issue.
The message wholeheartedly wished him good health and happiness.
