Hi Cliff,
Perhaps your reader who said,"There is NO evidence, none, nada, zip of world-wide catastrophe..." should practise what he preaches,namely, "READ READ LEARN LEARN".
For if he does, he will learn from his reading there is plenty of evidence which indicates repeated catastrophes on Earth. There is in fact so much evidence researchers have given its study the name, Catastrophism.
