Normally I wouldn't comment on theological summation, however I just can't sit by and read people scaring themselves to death over misinterrupted histories and opaque prophecies. I'm not trying to insult people's belief's here, but even God told the people 'only I know the time'.
1st; The Kolbrin writings are a detailed account of the super-eruption of Santorini in the Med. Past.
2nd:The middle east is and has been for quite a few millenia, a very geologically active zone. Many of these 'so-called' prophecies are in fact accounts of past events. Today's people tend to be EXTREMELY linear minded, where as in the past they wrote things down to learn from the past. In Isaiah, the description of natural forces, and the havoc it causes, is a lesson in nature/death being the great equalizer.
3rd: If you notice Isaiah also mention man's suffering AFTER the 'earth turning upside down' due to MAN"S defiling of the earth, his broken covenant. Man was charged with care for the earth, not rape of God's creations. Over population and 'citifying' has always been a problem of mankind's. Pharaoh's Egypt (Chem) had problems with it. When nature comes calling, because after all we DO live on a living planet, man and his 'civilizations' have been found lacking. They forget that we are all intertwined. ALL of us.
4th: The ancient nomadic peoples who wrote the scriptures didn't know anything about earth being a sphere, nor pole flipping. In fact, even if they did 'see' the occurance as a future event, they STILL would have seen a whole bunch of relatively nothing. There is NO evidence, none, nada, zip, of world-wide catastrophy associated with the earth's 'mentstrual cycle'. It happens, it has happened and it will continue to happen as long as we spin around an active sun. Humans have survived this event at least 10 times. And I wouldn't put much stock in those two from the U of U who claim that mankind was taken down to a few thousand people during the last flip. If you do a little background check, you will find that they had a profitable agenda for saying that.
5th: Yes, things happen on Earth when the pole flips, but it happens all the time. We have earthquakes, mega-storms, volcanic eruptions, and all of the other events. We are even looking at some very long over-due catastrophic events. People have gotten VERY used to looking at a map and expecting things to remain that way forever. It never has and it never will. You can go to Pisa today and see evidence of this in action. The Leaning Tower USED to be by the bay, now it is three-five miles inland. The environmental conditions that allow civilizations to rise, are also responsible for the fall of those inhabitations. The bible mentions these events to teach men how to cope and possibly prolong the life of the gift of civilization.
6th: People tend to fixate on the words "the covenant" like it's a product, or personal item that they need to get into heaven. Men suffer when they stop caring for those things placed into their care by The Creator. That is the covenant. This is why there is a list of "deadly sins" for us to beware of to keep our minds and actions on the path. We have free-will, so we can choose our paths, we have minds to allow them to grow so we may better serve then those who came before. Isaiah is indeed a prophet in that he has given us the clues to survive such wretched events, as those before us were unable and were unknowledgable of. We DON'T defile the land. In having done so, when these events come AGAIN, we don't wander desolate, starving, having wrapped so tightly within the concept of "civilization", (ie. man's creation) that we fail to allow GOD"S creations to carry us through.
7th: WE ARE NOT THE PEOPLE OF 70,000 YEARS AGO, even though our collective governments have deemed it necessary to keep us forcefully educated as though we were, to increase THEIR profit margins. Why in hell do we listen to them anyway? Half of them only have basic high-school educations, having BOUGHT their fraudulent college degrees (see "diploma mills"), and even those are in 'fascist philosophy theory'. "How to brainwash others for fun and profit"! I DO believe that we are in for a bumpy ride, HOWEVER, unlike any other point in time, we have the opportunity to ACT like prophets ourselves instead of the victims that we are being set-up to be.
It is important not to be confused by the difference between prophecy and lesson. Yes, civilization will fall after fulfilling certain criteria, but that is ANY civilization. Many fell at the times of the writings, and because mankind can't seem to learn from their mistakes, they are doomed to repeat the cycle until MAN finally defiles the earth one time too many and destroys the world with fire.
God is in all things, and being so allthings can be either great or wretched, depending upon MAN"S CHOICE of use. God gave rope, it's up to us to decide whether to use it to pull ourselves out of teh collective dung heap, or hang ourselves with it. God also gave man the brains to create the internet, the ability to hold WORLDWIDE discoursed and engage in the TRUE definition of education. We can chose to use it for the purpose of engaging in destruction or we can keep the covenant, learn how to repair and prepare the earth and it's children to ride this tiger.
Solution: READ!READ!READ! LEARN!LEARN!LEARN! And then SHARE!SHARE!SHARE! Unequivocably, unselfishly, from all our hearts; without politics or thought of profit. These are the creations of man, not God, and these creations are going to be our undoing when it comes time to pay the bill. Our whole planet is going to go through changes, some faster than the others and we need to be there for those when it comes to be their time. We have access to the greatest library the world has ever known and there is no excuse, NO EXCUSE, for life (all life) on this planet to be snuffed out. There are those out there who scream, "It's the end days", The only reason people are believing this is because there are certain individuals trying to FORCE the rapture, the end, ragnarok, whatever they want to call it. THEY are trying to tell GOD when to make it happen, and that my friend is sorcery, and THAT IS AGAINST EVERY LAW EVER WRITTEN.
Until God tells me otherwise, I'm going to cherish and do the best I can with the things he's given me, treat all things as fi they were MY children, I'm going to share my knowledge, learn from others the things I don't know, see through the crap bad-guys try to snow me with, and learn how to ride the wave that's coming, and hopefully many of us will ride that wave together. I look forward to enjoying the luau afterwards.
God is the only one who knows when the end of all life will be, when he will take all back to him; but, quite frankly, I'm not about to let a group of under-educated, over-funded, knowledge-hog, selfish, sadistic babies tell me when that is going to be just so they can get a rise out of me.
