Greetings Pravda:
Re: (Did I notice Orion's Belt!)
Well, ....uh...would you believe, yes and no?
OR....
Would you believe:
I did not recognize Orion's belt because Questionary drank all my little green bottles of Mickey's?
You see...
If Questionary hadn't been so thirsty, I'd have probably been horizontal by 4 AM in the morning and then, I would have recognized Orion's belt at once!
SO THIS IS ALL BOB'S FAULT! LOL!
In truth, I did see the stars you describe, but did not put it together as being Orion's belt!
There's a lesson here, isn't there?
I would call that a classic example of allowing one's preconceptions (re: the expected shape of Orion's belt) to dictate the reality one sees at a given moment!
Maybe I'd make a good professional astronomer, after all, eh?
With one small difference....
I'd still have a hard time lieing about how normal everything is!
As per Venus...
Being a hopeless partisan of Female pulchritude, I was so blinded by my planetary sweetheart's blazing light that all else faded to naught!
Consider that mainstream astronomy sites have repeatedly stated that Venus was due to DECREASE in brightness within a few weeks of the transit, not due to INCREASE in brightness!
So...
How does that bit of fluff from Professional Fools Hill Observatory, fit the fact that she is now brighter than ever?
Now that I think about it, How can anyone who has ever, ever, ever, look at the stars for more than five minutes in their entire life, not notice that things are recently radically amiss and becoming more so by the day?
In my opinion, nearly all those who still have the temerity to call themselves honest and truthful astronomers are rapidly losing all credibility.
Were that they were in reality, in hot pursuit of reporting the truth, one quick look at the abnormal atmospherics of earth that are in play between the eyepiece of the telescope and the object Venus, should suffice to send any of them to the penance booth.
As an interesting aside, through the telescope last night,it is apparent that ........ MORE OF THE DISC OF VENUS MAY BE ILLUMINATED THAN EVER.....
One thing is certain....This object is NOT losing it's luster.
...I am here to say that it might just make me a tad bit uneasy if it continues, as such, for much longer.
I will be looking around for Orion's belt tonight!
We can't allow him to run around the heavens, half dressed now, can we?
And... laying down on the job, at that!
