READER: BIRD POPULATION IN IDAHO NOTHING TO CROW ABOUT!
In Eastern Idaho nearly all the birds are scarce to absent, except for the ubiquitous crow. There are a few sparrows and starlings around, but no meadow larks, bluebirds, bluejays, whippoorwills, etc. I saw one robin in April, but none since. The geese are less each year, but we still have a few ducks.

Greetings, D:
Thanks for sending this information!
Those crows are indeed everywhere. I don't think that even the end of the world would disturb those rascals! They are usually too busy fussing with each other or stealing eggs and/or robbing nests somewhere to notice things like that!
The biggest mystery around here is what happened to the huge flocks of blackbirds and starlings that we have always had. There are still a few around but normally, there are thousands upon thousands of them!
They even chase the crows and eagles now and then!
I haven't seen any geese for a few months. The last flock I recall seeing was a group of several dozen. It was late October and they were flying north!
Talk about confused!
What a bunch of bird brains!
I suspect that HAARP may have cooked their collective goose, and I wouldn't be surprised to find that most of those honkers are probably now PLAYING a harp!
