This is evidence of nothing more than that there is a person on a cell block somewhere displaying a tatoo that includes an Israeli flag. It might be interesting to know what the rest of the tatoo is or means, and that might put the flag in context. Finally, so what, there is nothing wrong with respecting Israel as a nation. That particular part of the mideast belonged to the Jews for thousands of years before the Arabs came along and stole it by force of arms...
As compensation for the fact that the Arabs were complicit in the attempt by the Nazis to exterminate the Jews of Europe, as well as that the immigration of large numbers of Jews into the Palestine, a British Protectorate at the time, had led to substantial and real development of the area, the United Nations recognized the Jewish state of Israel in 1948.
Immmediately the entire Arab league declared war on Israel and attempted to take the land back, which they have been continuously unsuccessful in doing. Rich Arab nations have kept dispossessed Palestinians in tiny enclaves in subhuman conditions for the last 50 years in the false hope that they would be able to return to Israel and displace the Jews.
It is not going to happen and they should long ago have gotten over it. They stole the land from the Jews in 700 A.D. and the Jews took it back in 1948. There is plenty of undeveloped land in Syria, Jordan and Lebanon that the "Palestinians" could easily carve out for their state.
For instance, the "Hashimite Kingdom of Jordon" is also one of those latter day creations of the release of British Imperial control in the middle of the 20th century. Before that it was simply another British protectorate called Transjordan that had been wrested from the control of the Ottoman Empire in the latter half of the 19th century which had been wrested from the control of the califates in the lated 16th and 17th centuries, which had been wrested from the control of the Holy Roman Empire following the Crusades which had been wrested from the control of the Califates during the Crusades, which had been wrested from the control of the Byzantine empire by the turkish empire.
There has never been a nation of Palestine nor has there ever been a "Palestinian" people. Certainly no more or less so anyway than that of Israel or Judea and the Jews.
