Thanks for this info, Spectator. I think this is the first time in Europe that there has been major-media publicity saying it's cool to be chipped (although something similar has already started in the US). How explicitly are the authorities/media controllers linking it to 'anti-terrorist' propaganda? Or are they just saying it's cool and will help people get into clubs and not use credit cards. And what's this stuff about not having to show documents at clubs? I thought it was compulsory to carry ID in Spain. I read that the Barcelona event was scheduled for 18 March 2004. Am I right to think that TV news shows contained something like: - article on aftermath of the Madrid massacres - article on the election - article on celebrities and club-goers getting microchipped? It can't be long before there is similar pro-chipping propaganda elsewhere in Europe.
