That's a good observation UE. The ECU that Rayelan put up clears up a lot here.
It is indeed highly reminiscant of the Svastika and as you correctly observe is posed counter-clockwise. It could be looked at as two Swastikas, one posed North South East West, the other NE SE SW NW.
The clockwise rotating swastika is supposed to represent good fortune, counter-clockwise - Chaos.
The question of course is where did this item come from? Which wardrobe dept? And is the CBS hullabaloo more about the revelation of the Swastika rather than the flesh, of which there is so much on the TV screens these days?
