THE STORY OF CAIN
And the reason we love our enemies.
From Genesis, chapter 4:
For killing his brother, Cain is cursed from the earth. When he tills
the
ground, God tells him, it will not yield to Cain any crop.
Cain is driven from the face of the earth and hidden from the face of
God.
But to protect Cain, the Lord gives Cain a mark, that anyone attempting
to
slay Cain may receive retribution seven times over.
Vengeance shall be taken on him [whoever tries to slay Cain]
sevenfold.
Exodus, 4:15
------------------------------------------------------------------
This mark is two crosses overlaid, like the union of St. Andrew's
Scottish
cross and St.George's English cross which forms the emblem of the
flag of Great
Britian.
Two versions of the mark, the double-cross, can be found at:

You will also see the mark of Cain on Janet Jackson's exposed right
nipple.
This signature , is the seal of immunity from retribution and the seal
of
authority for retributive power.
You will also see this seal of authority, this double-cross, in the
piazza of
St. Peter's in Rome, at the entrance to Harvard Law School, on the US
Supreme
Court Building, on the facade of many Masonic Temples, and depicted as
the
signature of Annu in Babylonian tablets.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Cain goes out from the presence of the Lord to dwell in the land of
Nod.
Cain builds a city there he calls Enoch, named after his firstborn son.
How do you suppose Cain survives, and thrives, in the land of Nod, in
the
city of Enoch? He is cursed from the earth so the ground will yield him
nothing.
And he is hidden from the face of God so he can only know shame,
contempt,
humiliation, fear, unhappiness, dread, etc.
Cain does the only thing he can do: he uses his power of sevenfold
vengeance,
his power of retribution, to rule.
Since Cain can inflict seven times the punishment anyone can inflict on
him,
it is in Cain's interest to provoke everyone into fighting him.
Cain has retributive power only. He has zero creative power. He can
only
survive on the energy of whomever he can provoke into attacking him.
When we live in the presence of God, unlike Cain, the earth will yield
to us.
And God's power is available to us through our willingness to love.
When we are able to love, God is present at the heart of this world.
When we refuse to love, we are hidden from God and instead face Cain
with his
power of retribution, sevenfold.
It's a simple equation: we reap what we sow.
The Sons of God create. The sons of Cain provoke reactions.
The Sons of God do not react according to the way they are treated. We
act
according to God's Truth and God's commandment: Love others as
yourself.
Those who live outside the presence of God treat others the way they
themselves are treated. They react. They do not, and can not, create.
Only the Sons of God are given creative power; they reference their
lives,
not to men and the world but to God and to heaven.
When we stop allowing Cain to provoke us, and thereby control us, we
can
reference our lives back to God and God's creative energy, which is
love.
So we love our enemies. Not because we fear our enemies (there is no
fear in
love) and not because we are timid, but because it is our work here on
earth
to bring the presence of God to the heart of this world.
This requires ultimate courage.
This requires ultimate faith.
There is no higher calling than this.
Peace.
