If you wish to remove the concept of money, only Immortality can give it a "sense"...
People will always care about their survial and protect their assets therefore... but if (potential) Immortality intervenes in the process, they (people) will focus on their immortality instead (detach themselves from materialism) because they will then regard money as complete archaic fashion of exchange.
But I think there will be two societies co-existing for a while though.... die hard capitalism vs money-free egalitarism, which could be seen as fundamentalism vs self-determinism.
I do not see any money free societies before the end of the next generation at least, time for A.I to show up. As for Religions, they all need a major overhaul because they were written at a time where people had little if no education at all, and this is why they easily get/got twisted. A new faith might well arise too, no doubt about that!
Worldwide shortage of steel forecast

Soaring demand for steel - including a huge increase in Chinese consumption - means that a global shortage is likely next year, industry experts are warning.
World Steel Dynamics, a US-based consultancy, says there is an 85 per cent chance of a shortage in the first quarter of next year.
Steel prices have been ramping upwards in the past year, together with the outlook for industry profits. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of a group of 35 large global steelmakers studied by WSD are likely, according to the consultancy, to be up 10 per cent this year compared with 2002.
Investors have taken note. The shares of quoted steel companies across the world, relative to the FTSE World index, are up about 40 per cent this year, and by 150 per cent since a low point in late 2000......
