Good point. Perhaps they waited for the voice transmission to confirm it was really him? Or perhaps to send a message to those "in the know" making it clear that this was no accident?
At any rate, given the fact that his father and uncle(s) were the targets of assasins, it is not unreasonable to suppose that he was too. Certainly less unreasonable than to assume a bizarre coincidence in which his plane just happened to be the one which flew into the beam of a "black hole machine".
Basically, I wanted to remind people of the principle known as "Occam's Razor" - that (given two explanations that fit the facts,) the simpler explanation is more likely to be right. It seems that people on RMNews tend to favor more complex and weird explanations for things, even when there is no reason to, and this can only undermine its credibility.
Of course, sometimes apparently simple explanations are contradicted by the facts. There are some weird things happening in this world but, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, the simpler explanation should always be preferred. As Einstein put it, a good theory "should be as simple as possible - but no simpler." I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
