: 48 hrs. later until we could get any return for that area.

Just throwing some idea's around, but maybe JFK saw
or found something suspicious and was making contact
for that reason. If the attack was planned there might have
been some kind of surveillance equipment on board and
the beam was initialized quickly when he made radio contact.
If it was rushed then certain precautions may have not been
made resulting in the obvious cover up.
