Almost missed posting this series of exchanges with Tom
[Slightly distracted by Dark Matter ...]
Also addressing Rosalinda, a dear friend, please do not be offended by these exchanges as I believe it offers a fresh perspective of the various issues before us and I think you will find Tom's views as worthwhile reading - he's someone who's been there done all that ...you can tell.

PS. My point is basically this: do your best and other's will follow. Don't worry about the country or the world, worry about making your own situation the best it can be by accepting full responsibility for it; lead by example in your own life and not by trying to force policy upon others. I find the policies LaRouch proposes to be diametrically opposed to such a way of thinking. Is my line of thought correct? I haven't a clue but I'll let you know when I'm no longer of this world.

Aladdin,
My feelings with regards to the problems of humanity are that they lie within each of us and, secondarily, our interaction with those close to us, our family and then our community.
It seems your post in reply to Somtum's post, "Remember what Pogo said . . .", would find you in agreement with me on that.
I find that LaRouch proposes remedies on grand international scales, much as the original Bretton Woods Agreement did. What I have noted from my reading on programs of such scale is that they create dependency rather than self reliance ....basically, tell people that they are not responsible for their own situations and they will fall, hook, line and sinker, for whatever solution you propose. In my opinion, that only takes the attention away from the root of the problem which is seated inside each of us.
There's a reason they say "charity works best close to home". That's because there is much more interest and ability for those giving the charity to assist and advise those receiving it.
When a huge bureaucracy starts it's "dole", there is no incentive for anyone to try and get those receiving it off the "dole" since it wasn't from them, or so they believe, but it's from the "taxpayer", in one form or another. Those passing out the assistance just pass on the cost, by the force of government, to the taxpayer. This is just forced redistribution of wealth. Why should those receiving the handout (lift) a finger to change their situation when "Big Brother", or whatever other legal fiction is handing out the dole, is taking care of them.
This enrages those that have worked to better their situation and they become less inclined to continue to do so if their efforts are taken from them. The net result is that humanity achieves far less than it's potential.
If we each took total control of and responsibility for our own situation, where would humanity be as a whole?

Hmmm ...yes I see your point.
It did occur to me that the grand projects proposed by LaRouche would require an enormous amount of financing ...
That can only come from such as another Bretton Woods ...
Also it seems incredible that LaRouche has been "allowed" to speak as freely as he has been ...
Usually a one such as him would have been dealt with as the Venetians wud deal with any and all alike him ...
More later.

Aladdin,
Many would argue that the first Bretton Woods Agreement, and the events leading up to it, did great damage to this once great land. I happen to be anomg those that hold that view.
Please explaine to me how another such agreement would make this land great again.

LaRouche was framed in the Reagan era for his controversial economic recovery theories - that would have worked.
His religous views, while being theocratic in slant, are nothing compared to the theocratic incursion to government that we are NOW undergoing
LaRouche's economic and nationalinfrastructure development theories would have enables America to become the economically strongest nation in history.

Rayelan,
My second vote would go to Lyndon LaRouch.
I think you can probably guess why I make that statement.
