It seems this latest device is not directly attributed to Mr. Bearden, but nevertheless, . . .
Since 911, there have been over 50 posts at RMN mentioning [Tom] Bearden. One of them, on 6 April 2002, was mine and I repost it here.

{Somtum:} A friend passed this along to me. I don't know the source. Just grist for the mill that may or may not be of help...
"...Tom Bearden goes way way back, at least into the 1970s. He is an enigma. From what I understand, . . . the final scion of a very old rich southern military family, and has never had need for gainful employment. He supposedly was a Lt. Col. in the Army (or Army Reserve?), and used this ill proven status to make a lot of people think he was privy to the uppermost of secret technology back in the late Cold War era (1970s). He was a very prolific writer on the topics of Tesla technology, so called "scalar physics" and very curiously, bio-terror. His books were quite popular with the Christian Right as well as the anarchists...but then again who DOES like the government? He is still a darling of many alternative tech websites and magazines.
"The downside is that nothing that I have ever seen in any of his books or papers really ever pans out, nor did he usually ever give quite enough details to make a convincing argument for anything. He is a very good writer for any with paranoia or axes to grind. I even think he has made some interesting points. But the opinion I have is that he is more or less a shyster...but a sincere one at least. And a good one.
"About 2 years ago, TB and a couple of other guys designed a clever high frequency pulse transformer that used laminated ferrite as a core. They called it the MEG. It actually was based on some other work from in the early 90s by a guy named Norm Wooton, who seems to have not gotten any credit for it.
"True to Bearden's form, the MEG was announced maybe a year and a half ago as an overunity device. It has been tested to my satisfaction by a number of people, all of whom found that it really is just about 67% efficient. It vanished off of websites for a while, when this became apparent. But now - very oddly - it is back, and Bearden is doing his usual. They got a patent on it somehow, and now he is mainly just using this fact alone to sell more of his books, I think. It was a marketing ploy for his other ventures. It will vanish from the limelight within weeks. alas..."
