One of the FEMA-sponsored investigators, Jonathan Barnett (photo and credentials below), took issue with Christopher Bollyn of American Free Press and wrote to him directly.

Why won't you come and visit me in my office and look at the videos and photographs I have? If you care, then you'd find the money to hop on a plane and come visit. Why do you refuse to look at the evidence? Once you see what I have you'd see how wrong your last email is. Come look. Don't be afraid. Its all there. Don't hide in Germany. Be a real reporter. Come look.

Responds to Prof. Barnett, FEMA-sponsored WTC Investigator:
Dear Dr. Barnett,
I am very willing to look at the photos and evidence. By all means DO send the photos that you have previously offered by e-mail or normal post. My physical presence is really not necessary. I am, Prof. Barnett, not "refusing" to look at any evidence.
I live in Germany because I am the European correspondent for American Free Press. My wife is a European citizen as are my children, who already attend local schools.
While I am an American citizen with Hessian family roots tracing back to the Revolution, I find myself unwilling to live under a murderous regime, bolstered by a strictly controlled media, that allows thousands of its citizens to be brutally slaughtered in broad daylight and then allows the evidence to be recycled in the steel foundries of China, Korea, and India, without even conducting the most basic forensic tests.
After speaking with Dr. Gene Corley on Thursday, I realize that only a few (80-100) samples of steel have been preserved from the 300,000 tons of steel from the WTC site, and that these few samples have NOT even been tested for "twinning", which would prove or disprove the existence of explosives near these pieces.
Most of the steel, the only remaining evidence from this horrendous crime, was quickly sold, at a hefty profit, by Alan D. Ratner of Metal Management (Newark) and Hugo Neu Schnitzer East (New York) to far-away Asian steel companies to get rid of the evidence as quickly as possible. Ratner, who spent most of his metal trading career with SimsMetal of Sydney, Australia, has close ties to the Australian and British companies that cleaned up the mess, of course.
Dr. Corley, the professional engineer who led the so-called investigation of the World Trade Center and the Murrah Federal Building of Oklahoma City, claimed that he did not even know what I was talking about when I described the test that proves if an explosive has affected steel.
He said that he was not a metallurgist.
Well, neither am I, but I do know that steel from the WTC can easily be tested to see if was in the proximity to explosions or not. That is fairly basic stuff. These tests can be done by numerous labs in the U.S., including Southwest Research of San Antonio, Texas. Such tests were done on steel pieces from the hull of the sunken ferry ESTONIA.
Corley didn't even know if the site had even been tested for radioactivity. Pray tell, what did you people do at the site?
Professor Barnett, I am very interested in how you might explain the numerous hot spots of more than 1535 degrees Celsius in the 7th basement level at the point where the 47 central box columns (with 4 inch steel walls) met the bedrock of lower Manhattan.
I'd also like to know how you explain the MASSIVE seismic spike that occurred 4 seconds into the 8-second collapse of the North Tower. This spike was MANY times higher; meaning MANY times the amount of energy was released INTO the ground before the mass of the building even hit the ground.
As Arthur Lerner-Lam said, "During the collapse, most of the energy of the falling debris was absorbed by the towers and the neighboring structures, converting them into rubble and dust or causing other damage - BUT NOT CAUSING SIGNIFICANT GROUND SHAKING."
Professor Barnett, please look at the seismic record from the Palisades, NY seismograph station and tell me, WHAT was causing the 2.3 magnitude earthquake if IT WAS NOT the falling building, which was still falling through the air?
You will note that early into each collapse something shook the ground and rocked the needle of the seismometer into another dimension. Pray tell, what was that?

Lerner-Lam could only say that this is a subject of "ongoing discussion and research." Which is the academic way to say that they haven't got a clue or they don't want to talk about it.
Asked to explain what could have created such intense heat deep in the basements of the towers for days after 911, Peter Tully could only say, "Think of the jet fuel."
Mark Loizeaux attributed the heat source to "paper, carpet, and other combustibles" that were "packed down the elevator shafts" when the towers fell.
Fahrenheit 451 is the temperature of the paper in all the forgotten PHYSICS books burning. Steel melts at about 2800 degrees Fahrenheit. That is quite a reach!
With all due respect to Tully and Loizeaux, I have to say, "Try again."
In baseball they would say, "Strike Two! But, wait, now coming to the mound for the beleaguered WTC investigators, Prof. J. Barnett. The heat is on. The game is in the final inning. Can he pull it out?"
Prof. Barnett, with all due respect, all I want to see is the proof and all I want to hear is the truth, or an honest attempt to find it. The failure of the FEMA-sponsored investigators to save the steel and to test it for explosives is in a word, INEXCUSABLE. Why did it have to be recycled so quickly? I would have contributed the land to store it for years while it was investigated.
Given the fact that numerous credible witnesses reported seeing, hearing, and feeling explosions prior to the collapse, how could this NOT be an investigative priority?
I respect your efforts, Prof. Barnett, and believe you are an honest man. But, if you want to convince me and the MILLIONS of people who doubt the official version of 911, then open up the investigation, which, unfortunately, has yet to happen, and disprove the evidence of explosions, if you can.
