When I was first enrolled at Yale College, my major was the History of Religion. One of my first professors once described such a method of transcribing the Torah, so I am assuming that it was once also used for the Gospels. As a Christian I was astonished to learn that the Gospel of Bartholomew and the Gospel of Thomas -- which I had to read in English -- were not considered 'worthy' of being included in the scheme of the New Testament. Then, as I learned more and more about the different Christian 'schools' which arose in the first 150 years after the Crucifixion and Resurrection, I found myself very seriously challenged and my belief system wrecked.
Less and less did I find myself thinking that "Jesus Christ" was anything other than "the Son of God." He was a man who was sculpted by a loving God. He was not God.
Modern Christians, too many of them, no longer seem to make that distinction. They pray to Jesus as if He was our God instead of being our Savior and thus, 'a lord.' Not THE LORD.
This has troubled me deeply for some time. In light of what Gigi has posted here, and in light of the continuing eruptions of sexual abuse by Catholic priests, and a Church-wide cover-up, there is no doubt in mind at all that such revelations would wreck the Roman Catholic hierarchy. Wreck it to the ground.
Then again, when a great people ask for and demand the truth, and then they get it -- this will be the ultimate test of their greatness, will it not? Millions of our fellow citizens are practicing Roman Catholics and there are billion Christians in the world today: roughly speaking, that is the same number of believers as there are in the Sunni and Shi'ite schools of Islam.
If both groups of people are challenged down to their core beliefs, and both are forced to see that much of what they have been told is 'the history' of their faith is either inaccurate, wrong, or a total lie -- what will this mean? I have no problem seeing the hidden hand of the Illuminati in some of this wrangling, but even they cannot control it all, I think.
Does anyone besides me see the ghost of Jacques de Molay in the background, here? Laughing at those who betrayed him and who persecuted his brethren under falsely-given indictments? Who robbed his Order and persecuted his friends and defamed his name?
Inquiring minds want to know a lot more ... any clues, here, Gigi? Aladdin? Coriolanus? Templar Scribe?
