If you have heard of the Spear of Destiny then you know it's legend. It is also called the Holy Lance and the Spear of Longinus.
It is said to be the spear that the Centurion used to pierce the side of Jesus. That is what it is most widely known publicly for, however the spear has played a huge role in history.
It is said to have been possessed by every ruler that held great power down through the ages. Therefore it is said that "He who holds the spear, rules the world!"
This is why Hitler was searching for it everywhere until he too found it and briefly took possession of it for a time.
According to Trevor Ravenscroft in The Spear of Destiny (1997), a 19-year-old Adolf Hitler (1889–1945) was first led to the lance in 1908 and from the moment of his first encounter with it in the museum, it became "the central pivot" in his life and the "very source of his ambitions to conquer the world."
In addition to Constantine (d. 337), Hitler found that as many as 45 emperors had owned the lance before the great Charlemagne (742–814) had possessed it. Frederick the Great of Germany (1194–1250), who founded the Teutonic Knights on which Hitler allegedly based his SS, had also been an owner of the Spear of Destiny at one time.
Ravenscroft claimed in his book that Hitler would often visit the museum, stare at the Holy Lance, and enter into a trance state in which he would view his future glory as the master of the Third Reich.
There is much more to the story of the Spear of Destiny, this is just a little background on it so that the following will make sense.
Oh - it is said that the Spear of Destiny fell into the hands of U.S. soldiers on April 30, 1945 and interestingly enough, A few hours after the Holy Lance passed from Nazi possession on to its next claimant to world power, Adolf Hitler committed suicide.

Gary Locke has literally just been given the POWER (GARY=SPEAR RULER = HE WHO HAS THE POWER) to control the flow of weapons across the ocean (LOCKE = LOCKEEPER) from America to China. He was the Governor of Washington for many years and is now the COMMERCE Secretary.
This is symbolic because he happens to have been the governor of a state that makes your mind think of "AMERICAN POWER" because it is named "WASHINGTON" just like the American power center WASHINGTON D.C. - and it is important strategically because he is physically located right on the ocean - across the ocean from CHINA. The place where the POWER is shifting to!
He is the SPEAR RULER - LOCKKEEPER = translation:
He will oversee the transfer of POWER and SECURITY (weapons) from America to China! He is the Gatekeeper, the Locksmith, who controls the lock and holds the key as well. He is also the Lockkeeper, who controls the "gates" to the Atlantic Ocean.
He has been given the authority to oversee and facilitate the flow of power from "WASHINGTON" to CHINA he opens the lock and allows weapons and American toys and wealth and control across the Atlantic to China.
THAT is what the symbolism exposes is behind Obama's latest Presidential Directive.
