You are right . I believe the same . He owed money to banks who are hard up for cash and used collateral well over the value of the cash in the banks . Also the financial crisis in State of California got some help because they will collect some major estate taxes from his death . He was a billion dollar industry . I think many celebrities in California may have similarly disturbing deaths . Out of the powers that be who are the most expendable ? Entertainers .
This is 2 things a smoke screen and an asset grab .
