Monsanto says it won't Genetically Modify the seeds of THESE veggies...no, they're just going to destroy the natural disease-fighting Antioxidants found in these particular vegetables -- Broccoli, Spinach, Cauliflower and Lettuce so they can breed more colorful, tastier veggies for us that are less susceptible to bruising and have a longer shelf-life. We humans will "wilt" and develop a SHORTER shelf-life, but hey -- we'll sure want to chow down those beautiful shiny new fruits and vegetables -- who knows, maybe they won't even require refrigeration! Since Monsanto is buying up all the seed companies in the world, I wonder when they'll start splicing human genes with plant genes to create a more "environment-friendly" human, then the whole planet can become the land of the fruits and the nuts...

~The five-year collaboration, announced Tuesday, will focus on creating variations of broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce and spinach, the companies said in a statement.
The focus of their efforts is to breed more colourful, tastier vegetables that are less susceptible to bruising and have a longer shelf-life.
“If I buy broccoli on Saturday or Sunday and try to cook it on Wednesday, it'll get wilty,” Monsanto spokeswoman Riddhi Trivedi-St. Clair said of one of reasons for the program.~
