Apparently the front page of tomorrow's Observer newspaper is to report that the British government is to declare a state of emergency on Monday.
We are told that this is a necessary legal definition to allow the government to bypass the European human rights legislation which was recently incorporated into British law.
The move is to allow detainment of foreign 'terrorist suspects' without trial. Such internment without trial was used as a state tool in Northern Ireland and also used to detain German citizens during World War II.
The British government have chosen to release this information at about 10:00pm on a Saturday night, so that it stays out of the main Sunday newspapers tomorrow and so that it would receive third or forth billing on tonight's main BBC news.
