I was into the acid alkaline thing for a while but I gradually drifted away from it because it didn't seem like a process that indigenous societies had to go through. They knew some of the dietary wisom through instinct, some through experience and some knowledge was gathered by watching what animals did. I really like the works of Weston Price and Pottenger. Price studied the indigenous societies who lived in the outlying areas and who ate their native and unrefined diets. He compared the health and MORALS of these people to those who ate the refined diets and who lived in the more populated areas.
Those who ate the natural diets had beautifully formed features...sinuses, jaws and general skeletal structure. They had no jails or doctors because they had no need for them. On the other hand those with malformed skulls and jaws had more problems with mental retardation and crime. He shows pictures of some criminals in the book and you can see how their facial structures are deformed.
So....I am excited about ancient and not so ancient dietary wisdom.....100 years ago , in some places of the world...they were still eating wisely . For example.....we no longer ferment our foods. Just that alone, neutralizes phytates in grains, preserves the food without electricity, increases vitamin content, increases enzyme activity, and provides us with the good bacteria. The sour taste also helps in the digestion process. It's just miraculous!!
