Ion's basically saying, "Freedom is just another word for nothin' left to lose." :) That when human beings see everything disappearing around them but realize they themselves are still here and thus must be pretty resilient, that's precisely when they "relax" about it all sufficiently to surface new creative ideas and new approaches, etc. :)
