I suggested the same to Rayelan in a private email over a month ago. You are exactly right. People pay for lies in a newspaper, an lies from the TV media, but are reluctant to pay for the truth here. I honestly believe a private, subscription only site would work well. That would completely eliminate frustration on Rayelan's part and it would ease the pressure of those who feel the need to always have to ask for money. It appears that there are thousands of hits on this site every month, one yearly $12.00 subscription (as I suggested to Rayelan) could easily give her enough funds to keep the site going and some for her to enjoy life as well.

I, too, am a monthly donor, and also feel the guilt that I can't do more than the 5.00 (that is more in Cdn funds). Once it is setup by Pay pal I don't even notice it gone. But it allows me - in my opnion - to visit the site as often as I want, to go to all the parts of it, read amazing info and listen to the radio (as well as being a part of one of the shows), without feeling any guilt. Part of the problem is that the focus is always on 'the money isn't here yet' so of course, it doesn't come.
If I as a senior on fixed income can donate, so can others. But to go through this every month is time and energy wasted by all.
Let RMN membership become a subscription and let us get on with raising our energies to heal our planet and ourselves.

I'll start by giving you part of the gratefulness I have for all at RMN. I write to give some response to the on going struggle to maintain resources for RMN, heck, for poor Raye as well. When I found this site, I took everything with a grain of salt that I read. There is a diverse spectrum of perspective and character in the sum of the RMN reading room. Some I liked, some I felt less comfortable with. Nonetheless, I have been coming here regularly, as with a few other sites, for my news. I turned the TV off 14 years ago and do not miss it. Public radio and places like this are my source and connection to the world's direction and status. Ok, enough about my perspective. I would just like to let all know, I was evicted in Feb 2008 and since then, read how Raye could do well with $1 a month from everyone who stops by on a regular basis. I was down to $42 in the bank and gave $20 to RMN for my $1 a month pledge. I am still not in a secure living situation , the reasons I will omit for clarity of point. I am going to give another $20 that I shouldn't, according to the common sense world, because living is not 100% sensible all the time. I would hope more people act a little "senseless" and keep the boat afloat. I apologize for us all, that you need to post such matters.
