Hawaiians Are NOT Native Americans!!!
I noticed in the post regarding Jupiter aligning with Mars, there was a mention of the Hawaiians and the Akaka Bill.
I'd like to set the record straight on this - it is NOT a good thing! Hawaiians are NOT Native Americans nor do they wish to be classified as such.
They DEMAND justice and their Sovereignty NOW!

We of Mana Oha provide this information to all who want to know the plight of the indigenous people of Hawaii. We support the petition to make known to the United Nations Oversight Committee and anyone else in the world, what the United States has been doing in and to Hawaii since 1893.
This situation has gone on far too long and the very existence of the Hawaiian people and the Hawaiian Nation is at stake and in jeopardy. Intervention on an international level is urgently required. We call on all sovereign nations to come to the support of an indigenous people that have been suppressed and oppressed for over 100 years.
With the impending United States Supreme Court Hearing regarding Hawaiian Sovereign land, these charges of genocide and other crimes against humanity can no longer be ignored! This court case, as well as the Akaka Bill have no legal standing and exist for no other reason than to cloud the real legal and humanitarian issues.

Petition & Request for Mediation in an International Dispute:

Whereas, On January 17, 1893, US Marines did land forces in support of elements of the United Church of Christ and sugar planter's associates and that the legitimate head of state of the Hawaiian Kingdom did place the authority of her office into the hands of representatives of the United States military;
Whereas, The United States of North America (48) states national congress did enter into a Treaty of Friendship, Navigation and Commerce which was ratified by the Hawaiian Kingdom legislative
Whereas, certain individuals whose political status as the true inhabitants under the UN definition are being selectively prosecuted in moral ignorance and blatant acts of abuse of police authority, are being harassed and terrorized by conspiracies to deprive the self determining inhabitants of exercising that “inherent sovereignty” in the national lands as was customary and normally and amicably upheld by the terms of the Treaty of 1850;
Therefore, by this Petition, it is formally requested of the Carter Center to forward this Petition to initiate proceedings of mediation to address this current US administrative conflict and global dilemma and support and call for the convening of a conference under the responsibility of the United Sates Secretary of the Interior and oversight of the United Nations Secretary General, at which time the inhabitants of the Hawaiian Islands and representatives of the United States, representatives from the United Nations and bona fide human rights groups can begin the process of mediation in the context of formulating recommendations to correct longstanding inequities in Hawaii – US political relations to prevent a proliferation of apartheid which has fostered and lends to the incitement and commission of crimes of genocide.
