Reader "R" brings up a very interesting point. Has any previous president or candidate ever been required to show their birth certificate? I doubt it. Were they all just assumed to be natural born?
Has anyone ever wondered about, or has ever seen George H.W. Bush Scherff's birth certificate? I have read recently that he was born in Germany. Maybe he was manufactured just like Obama seems to have been.
There is another side to this issue that seems to be overlooked. The powers that be (CIA, NSA, etc.) can provide the desired birth certificate any time they want, by simply creating one; they have all the expertise in the world to do so. They simply walk into the Hawaii hospital, flash their pages and utter the sacred words: "National security..." They procure genuine examples, take them back to Langley and create a forgery that is perfect; using paper of the correct time period, inks that match, seals etc. and voila, here's your certificate, one that no one on earth could distinguish from the real thing.
This is to say that 21st century technology has gone far beyond the 18th century Constitution and it's "natural born" rules. Anything can be faked today, from "Arab" attacks to birth certificates. So is the "natural born" requirement now an outmoded tiny chunk of the Constitution, no longer enforceable in any meaningful way?
Maybe this suggests that some new kind of birth record be invented containing DNA samples from the infant or something, but the same problem recurs: anything can be faked today. So why all the big stink? If, as C. Story suggests in his recent report, the "good guys" at CIA are giving Obama reports already and seem to be FOR him (so far) then producing a valid birth certificate is no problem at all. Perhaps they are working on it right now.
Yes, come to think of it, we would all like to see Poppy's B.C. too, and no, it would not mean a thing. Poppy was the HEAD of the CIA!
