A reader has been sending me some great info on DU and pollution, all around the world. I have a friend, who works in Ohio, at a DU plant. While he is still healthy, his wife and adopted daughter have recently died of cancer.
Areva (A French Company) Wants to build an uranium enrichment plant in southern Idaho. If any of you know where Hanford, Washington is, you'll remember how the place is still toxic. It will still be toxic when your children's, children's, children go there.
Greedy politicians getting greedy kick-backs.
Thank you Reader 'M,' for the interesting e-mails.

From Reader:
Incidentally did you notice the company?; Ariva is the
same batch of idiots that wants to irradiate southern Idaho
with a Uranium enrichment facility. It's an act of war, but
Washington is quiet, and the locals in Idaho are gleeful
about the boost in the economy. I'd be gleeful for 2 Billion
in "pay-offs". Meanwhile how Congress does whine "if only
we could nuke Iran" (because they're enriching uranium.
Enriching uranium is hugely power intensive, and dirty.
What happened to Oak Ridge Tennessee, or Savanna River; don't
we have enrichment facilities there already? Why
contaminate a new area?

Areva selects Idaho site for proposed U.S. uranium
enrichment plant
On May 6, 2008, AREVA Inc. announced that it has selected
the state of Idaho for its new U.S. uranium enrichment
facility. The site is located in Bonneville County, 18 miles
west of Idaho Falls, close to the Idaho National Lab.
Areva Inc. is building its $2 billion uranium enrichment
plant near Idaho Falls, Idaho, according to New Mexico state
Rep. John Heaton. (Carlsbad Current-Argus May 5, 2008)

Also under consideration are sites in Virginia (where Areva NP Inc. external link already operates a nuclear fuel facility at Lynchburg), New Mexico, Texas, South Carolina and Idaho, AREVA NC Inc. external link President Mike McMurphy said. "We're looking for places where the geology and seismic conditions are correct and public acceptance is good,"
