First several of the high-ranking army officers, and generals, then admirals, and now air force officers and general have been forced to resign because they did not want to go to war with Iran.
It was back 1953 when CIA toppled the democratic elected government of Iran's Mosadek and put in him in prison for the rest of his life and installed the authoritarian rule of the Shah. But, ayatollahs were very good at secret activities and they hired Shahs secret police and these become Iran's Revolutionary Guards, the ones that created Hezbolah in Lebanon, and that is why USA knew in advance that they will blow the marine barracks and teh embassy there. The whole thing there is still under CIA control and it's scope is to start the WWIII.
Same officers said that US army is, because of repeated Iraq wars, out of resources, and that it will take 10 years to refurbish it before it could defend the USA.
But, the scope of all this was to make it unable to defend the USA, and to force the rest of the world to join the world empire under dictatorship of single world leader, a plan thousands of years old. Plato (read his Republic) sow that democracy does not work, and all democracies down teh road failed.
America had unique for of government, The Republic because of this, which was supposed to be ruled by low and not by people, but those in charge succeeded to remove this principle thru education, presidential orders and corporate policies.
