Right here is proof that:
1. Unocal after bringing the Taliban to Houston in 1997 to discuss the pipeline project, "The Silk Road", that was to get oil & gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan & to China & Japan by sea; in fact never gave up on this project as they claimed to have done in 1998.
2. The inference is they have continued to manipulate the government of Afghanstan in pursuit of this goal, since they often stated a "stable government" was needed there for their project to proceed.
3. We also have not only further confirmation that "The Silk Road" pipeline was to go to China & Japan, but proof that a long term goal of the oil companies, presumably with US government assistance, has been to partner with China.
These 2 paragraphs are especially revealing:
