The election season is far from over. We know that things can change in a moment and if events turn then Ron Paul's message can gain more traction. There is a reason that Romney and Edward suspended their campaigns. I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility to foresee a financial panic or stock market crash given the shaky nature of the banking industry since roughly last August. Those types of events play into Ron Paul's strengths. His ideas are out in the public mid now and a battle of memes might favor RP if the unaware public becomes aware of t=some the issues that RMN readers discuss on a daily basis.
Even if RP is a ringer, he performed a service: he got a discussion of libertarian and constitutional values into the MSM. People who wouldn't normally think about fundamental issues of freedom were exposed to those ideas in a political forum rather than in a history or civics class. That exposure is valuable beyond the money RP raised.
As the vanguard of change we suffer from horrible impatience. We wanted an easy win in a single Presidential election to undo a decades-long trend. That wasn't going to happen. As for Ron Paul not contesting primary results, at some point we are going to have to do our own lifting. Organizing and conducting self-audits of our votes are good places to start.
No, we haven't won yet. But we sure didn't lose, either.
