Ron Paul's run was a success on many levels. He educated me and a lot of the new friends I have from the Meetup Group. Before he ran, I was a depressed, Rense reading, antisocial, pessimistic couch potato. Through this campaign I have become knowledgeable about so many issues including economics, prolife, the neocon agenda etc. etc. and able to communicate these ideas to others.
Sure, the campaign may have had management problems, as did the Meetup Groups. I am sure there were plenty of infiltrators and saboteurs, but personally I am on a much better footing than before this campaign and to me that is what counts.
I know that this work has prepared us for something yet to come. I believe that the election was/is rigged from top to bottom, inside and out, but I have also experienced the rigging-which adds a genuine outrage to my previous intellectual disdain. Am I doing something about it? No, not right now, because where would these efforts go? Right now, nowhere, it's too rigged. But I have learned so much that is of use. Plus, I feel good about what I have done for the past six months. If they march us off to the gulag tomorrow, I will not regret a moment of it.
It does feel as though a door closed with Super Tuesday, very similar to the door that closed after the Oklahoma City Bombing on the Patriot Movement. I do believe the results were rigged in some fashion and designed to hurt the movement. But where would we be without this race? Less educated, less linked, less fired up.
Ron Paul could not be as smart as he is and be a ringer. A ringer would not have changed me, as he is done.
