As for today's male, what do you choose when your role models are Him Crucified or The Marlboro Man? So many enter the ministry or the priesthood to escape dealing with their sexuality, and the result of this is scarcely scratched when the Media deigns to report some clerical scandal. The other model creates GI Joe Dolls whose idea of mutual gratification is defined solely by the sensations they experience through their own genitalia. "Whaddya mean, it was nice? It was great!"
To summon Romantic love as the solution is to belie experience. You do not become a skilled, sensitive lover just because of your feelings for your partner. Millions of Marlboro Men truly love their wives, but cannot satisfy them because they don't know how.
I just think the worst things that can affect anyone's sexuality are role models and labels. In other words, accept other people's definitions of your sexuality, and you become a sexual cripple, and a slave.
It took me months to realize Esclarmonde is a woman. I loved her then and and now. And I attribute my late discovery to Esclarmonde's transgendercendance.
