For the past six months, many 'internet patriots' have been e-mailing each other, and to various websites, the reports of a woman who honestly believes she is an overseas intelligence agent for the patriot community. Her name is Pamela Schuffert, author of the self-published (xeroxed) book, "Premonitions of an American Holocaust" (1999). RumourMill News is her latest platform.
Schuffert's credentials are not those of a journalist. She is a graduate of Elim Bible College, New York. Her late father was an American Army officer, famous for his cartoons during WWII, who worked at the Pentagon during the 1980's, where Schuffert believes he was involved in a Satanic coven. Schuffert's background includes no professional employment as either a writer or researcher.
In 1999 she hosted a shortwave program on WWCR, financed by herself, using her small inheritance after the death of her father.
There is no doubt that Pamela Schuffert is impassioned and articulate. From extensive travels across the U.S. during the 1990's, she amassed a great deal of hearsay evidence relating to the construction of concentration camps, as well as stories connecting the C.I.A. to Satanic groups. But readers of her book will only find the usual photographs (fenced compounds with barbed wire tops facing inward), and no documentation otherwise. The fact that her work has not been published by any legitimate alternative patriot press, on or off the internet, is not an oversight.
Having spent some years of her girlhood in Germany, Schuffert speaks the language well. Some of her most impressive stories while still in the U.S.A. concerned her interviews with German military staff stationed at their facilities at Alamogordo, New Mexico (Holloman AFB).
Certainly, it is true that the U.S. government has welcomed thousands of foreign troops to American soil for what is euphemistically described as "training exercises." The One-World Government will one day employ all national armies to enforce its dictatorship. But is it true that martial law is planned for the country in a matter of months, or even that it is an inevitable part of 'the program'? More to the point, are there "agent provocateurs" within the Christian community and the alternative media who are being used to unwittingly foment revolution, so that those who want a violent confrontation with the patriots, for their own purposes, can watch events play into their hands?
According to Schuffert, martial law was going to be declared five years ago. It was only prevented from happening, she claims, by the power of prayer. But since then, she still believes it is just around the corner.
Filtering everything through her own frame of reference, Schuffert asked her German interview subjects leading questions such as (to paraphrase): "You know you will be ordered to take over America under martial law and shoot civilians, don't you?"
If the German soldier, giving her an odd smile, just walked away, Schuffert would explain she knew his answer was "Yes!", not from what he said in so many words, but just from the cold expression in his eyes, and from the contempt in his body language, as he swaggered from the room. Schuffert's writing style seems borrowed from romance novels. This is the same interviewing technique Schuffert is still using today as she travels in Germany, where she has told friends she is on a "secret mission."
Having met hundreds of patriots during an especially volatile period in recent history (pre-Y2K), Schuffert has good connections. She was also in close contact with a man who took very revealing video footage of the tragedy at WACO, the late Ed Pack, whose mysterious death she documents in "Premonitions of an American Holocaust."
Strangely enough, on June 11, 20011, Schuffert issued a news release through her e-mail contacts which stated Ed Pack told her about the OKC bombing three months before it happened, predicting a government plot to demonize the patriot community. The problem with this release, issued just after Timothy McVeigh's execution, is that this story appeared nowhere in her book, where she wrote about the information she received from Ed Park at great length. But her statements this summer were surely timed to strengthen her credibility.
Provided as independent authorities for many of Schuffert's conclusions are two individuals long connected with the U.S. military, namely former "Prophecy Club" speakers Jim Ammerman and Al Cuppett, described in that Christian organization's literature as follows:
Jim Ammerman: "Retired Army Colonel, former Green Beret, and CIA official with 26 years in the military with a TOP SECRET security clearance. He discussed military strategies with General Norman Schwartzkopf in Desert Storm. He supervises 171 military chaplains around the world. Ammerman is also leader of a political intelligence group known as the Mount Rushmore Foundation, which reportedly 'studies the patriot movement' and 'participates in it'."
Al Cuppett: "31 years of service in the U.S. government, 21 in the military, in the Army. 'My last job was as a command and control communications inspector there and then, when I retired, I went to work with the federal government. When I came on board, I went to, among other things, to the Air Staff as an action officer, in the Pentagon. I also was a joint staff action officer and a command and control intelligence communications inspector/evaluator... won the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.' He spent nine years with the Department of Defense, which included six years on the Joint Chiefs of Staff."
Mr. Cuppett is now one of the leading promoters of a man in Israel who calls himself the Prophet Elijah. This Elijah claims to be the fulfillment of Malachi 4:4-6, and he foresees God's coming judgment upon Israel. Cuppett believes we are at the END of the Tribulation, rather than its onset. He is quoted on the Aho website (www.watch.pair.com) as follows:
"Yep, I know the above opens a lot of questions for those who have sucked upon the Church of God, Assemblies of God, and the denominational ad nausium (sic) bible school theology and eschatology. I know all about that. However for all the daughters and non bible studiers the peace and security covenant was signed on September 13, 1993, and broken on 13 of March, 1997. [That's the 3-1/2 years thought to be the first half of the Tribulation - Ed.] The antichrist figure himself is already clandestinely calling the shots behind the scene from the Brussels Beast Computer, which has a direct data commanding control circuit to every head of state in the world except Israel. The direct death and destruction by United Nations, apostates and forces can be witnessed by the reason [of] domestic policy, death to the USA. As well as the killing field in other places of the world and much more is on the way. This is all being called from Brussels and is being carried out by our puppets here in Washington... Regarding the time and the seasons, that is numbers, of the dates and times that are set forth in the word of God, well, they must all be shortened as the Lord has reserved that right, to save the elect, and almighty God shall have to do so and is already doing it. That is to save us. As of July, 1999, we are on the very brink of global disaster..."
Cuppett reports through various sources on a regular basis, every three months or so in fact, that he is privy to secret information that American officials and their families are leaving the country to escape civil war and martial law. Pamela Schuffert relays these stories to her extended internet mailing list. He has even warned American Jews that they should flee to Israel, all the while supporting the pronouncements of doom against that land declared by his friend, the 'living' Prophet Elijah, whose rhetoric hardly seems Scriptural to the ears of people who know the voice of the Holy Spirit. Consider a statement like the following:
"God is judging you people, you are not worthy to be called Jews because you don't live God's Holy Law. Barak, you are a law breaker, and judgment upon this land is because the blood is in your hands and your government's hands for what you're doing. You set me, you let them take me to that interior department, torment me every time I come into the country, every time I went out, you allowed those people to torment me, and the interior department with the Haredim, and then you had the secret police harass me, pick me up, you had the Massad come against me, and haul me to a mental hospital. They tried to destroy me with drugs and pilla, but God raised me up, God kept me alive, God gives me life, you can't kill me. Your evil people can't kill me because I have a God, but you will see yourself flee out of Israel for what you are seeing. Unless you repent. Now repent." Thus sayeth Prophet Elijah.
A few people are now asking questions about Pamela Schuffert, as well as Jim Ammerman and Al Cuppett, the two 'experts' upon whom she relies so heavily. Some are proposing that there is an intelligence operation in the United States designed to create an opposition movement for the purpose of psychological warfare and civil unrest, using the Christian community as pawns in a very complex game.
Just as many leading groups in the environmental movement are funded by big business, many leading figures in the patriot movement, and on the leading-edge of "signs and wonders" Pentecostal revivals in the U.S., have incriminating ties which link them to the "New World Order Globalists" about whose plans they are supposedly educating people. Many of them belong to an organization called the Council of National Policy.
But the CNP is not a conservative, anti-communist organization. It is itself a globalist organization, anti-American and unpatriotic in the extreme, according to Tim and Barbara Aho, who have compiled an extensive, although incomplete database, of its members. Their stated purpose in doing so is "to enable Christians to research and understand the very extensive connections of the Council for National Policy members with every manner of occult, subversive and criminal element of society..." Dating from the events leading up to the Jonestown Massacre in Guyana, Latin America has been the laboratory for fine-tuning psychological manipulation of population groups, using the religious community, as described in a confidential document nicknamed "The Santa Fe Report," in lieu of its longer title, "Inter-American Relations, Shield of the New Order and Sword of the U.S. Ascent to World Power" (1980). This project became operational with the Reagan administration, and then through Bush, and on to the era of co-operative secret government work between the Republicans and Democrats under Bill Clinton. President George W. Bush's initiative in enlisting churches to work with the federal government to help the poor is the latest development.
As described in the book "The Sect Mafia" by Burn Fouchereau, introduced by translator Suzanne M. Rini: "...Certain (religious) sects were created by psychological warfare specialists and entrusted with control of the political forum and control of conscience." Another reference book to peruse is "Mass Control" by Jim Keith (sold through Amazon.com; also available from Texe Marrs' "World of Prophecy" newsletter).
Probably Jim Ammerman and Al Cuppett are not high-ranking enough to be listed as members of the CNP. However, the authorization by the Defense Department in 1984 to set up Ammerman's "Full Gospel Chaplaincy" organization provides very interesting background. In his book, "Supernatural Events in the Life of an Ordinary Man," Ammerman admits that his chaplaincy group was organized at the request of Army officer, General Ralph E. Haines, Jr.
The following is a quote from research published by Anton Chaitkin, a writer for Lyndon LaRouche, under the title: "British Subversion of America: The Militias and Pentecostalism," providing insights into General Haines' career record. Regardless of whether one agrees or not with the LaRouche interpretation of modern history, this kind of information is disturbing. I quote:
"General Haines had been vice chief of staff of the U.S. Army in 1967-68, when he was in charge of counterinsurgency preparations in the continental United States. He worked with the full resources of the Army under him, including military intelligence capabilities, to plan to cope with black ghetto riots and civil disturbances during the Vietnam War. Haines moved his troops into Detroit and Washington, D.C., as riots hit American cities before (sic) and after Martin Luther King's assassination. General Haines went public in an April 11, 1968 press conference, describing his "OPERATION GARDEN PLOT'. He had planned and directed the military arrangements for the takeover of every single American city, and arranged the linkages between the military and Justice Department, local police, and state governments." And so Jim Ammerman's career as head of a chaplaincy organization under the auspices of the U.S. Army can be traced to one of the key figures in "OPERATION GARDEN PLOT".
The patriot community and Christian alternative media are awash with spokespeople who have U.S. Army, CIA, FBI, Pentagon, and intelligence backgrounds. So often they are accepted at face value, simply because they say what some of us want to hear, and they seem to have so many good, 'insider' contacts. Several appear to be providing the news we desire at great personal cost. But perhaps we should be more wary. The level of brainwashing expertise being what it is today, we have no way of knowing if these individuals are 'sleepers' of a different kind.
It is not fair to single out Pamela Schuffert. It is unlikely that she is deliberately trying to misinform anyone. She is not the only one whose personal commitment to Jesus Christ and the cause of truth ahve led her into the patriot movement. But unlike others, Schuffert has a need to believe all the stories she hears. And she has a large audience. Because of her personal situation, she has no other interests, no other life. Her upbringing as a young woman was traumatic, and although she is not middle-aged, she has never married. She is seriously overweight. These things must be said, because it is only by understanding Pamela Schuffert that we can recognize how vulnerable she has been to those who manipulate her to propagate their agenda and who give her the emotional support which sustains her.
Unfortunately, Schuffert needs no assistance when it comes to villifying anyone she believes is not on her side. Though sometimes none of us are far from paranoia, from Schuffert's perspective, anyone who disagrees with her scenario is a plant, a traitor, a weakling, or demonically possessed. There is no middle-ground for discussion.
The object of the real enemy here is to keep Christians and patriots in a perpetual state of fear, uncertainty, and anxiety. Under these conditions, good judgment is hard to come by. God give us wisdom.
