Until Steve Fossett will not be "found" everything seems to be possible. So let's ventilate another "fossibility":
All available info indicates that the B52 left Minot with SIX warheads.
The calculated "leak" was most probably the last opportunity to spoil a nasty Psyops in its tracks, by going public. Reporting the arrival of a "hot Buff" at Barksdale with FIVE warheads to the media could indicate something else:
As Barksdale being the logistical center for Middle East operations it could be a logical assumption that a warhead is missing THERE from the inventory. For covering the tracks of this "void" in Barksdale's nuclear arsenal it would be imaginable too that the transport was ordered from Minden to fill this gap to produce some "smoke and mirrors" by someone using Barksdale's nuklear inventory not so long ago.
By "ordering" some nukes from a AF-base in the North the focus of a possible, future investigation on the whereabouts of some warheads could have been directed always FIRST towards the origin of any possible "replacement" and you could win some valuable time by blaming the responsible commanding structure at MINOT AF-base firsthand.
It would give some possible "helpers" at Barksdale time to leave the base as well...
By leaking the story now to the press everything is turned upside down: The nuklear inventory at Barksdale will be checked without question. Firsthand.
About this we won't hear very much you can bet.
What you could watch for are possible little notes in Israeli papers about "American" soldiers" with Israeli nationality during the next weeks stationed at Barksdale.
Another important clue is the almost forgotten fact that on 9/11 the Air-Force One landed FIRST at Barksdale (Prezi Bush held his first speech from THERE!) after leaving Florida and commencing towards Offutt AF-base...
So - apart from all other speculations - we do have a new scenario. One, that would give by far more hope to the American people than any other doomsday-booga-booga. As it signals that the people have helpers and patriotic friends at the military too!
People who care for the wellbeing of the Americas, firsthand.
People who have enough power and influence to protect us all.
People who are tricky enough to use the media up to THEIR will.
