READER: THERAPISTS SAY THIS ONLY HAPPENS TO THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE: THEY ARE....
My wife had same thing happen to her. Multiple people in same room agreed with
her about hearing voices in the white noise of the fan.
She spoke with her therapist about it after having taken a psych test of some
sort. The results of the test were as follows: She is a genius. There are
three kinds of people in the world that her voices in white noise. They are
either hyper-creative, a genius, or crazy. (Crazy is my term as I dont recall
the clinical term). My wife is both hyper-creative and a genius. This was
discerned both from the test and a post interview. Additionally circling back
to the others in the room, my wife keeps similar company with hyper-creative
types and really smart people. The most common explanation is typically
hyper-creative. The mind is trying to make sense out of the world. So in the
case of hearing voices when a fan is going, the mind wants to make it sound
like voices rather than just the whur of the fan.
