Again, language that doesn't sound very scientific: "YOU ARE TOO PICKY."
Some might concur that it is too picky to state that a mathematician is not a scientist.
Do you want us to infer that YOU are the authority on who does or does not merit the rank of "scientist"?
You're the "professional scientist" here, according to your 23 April 2007 post: http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=103381
Your first sentence in that post:
"Well, I am a professional scientist and I don't really remember that ice age scare. So it must have been pretty low keyed."
Surely you don't mean to imply that your awareness constitutes an absolute standard. Not REALLY.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN: "...I don't really remember..."
From that statement a reader can infer that you might remember, if really remembering serves your purpose.
"I am a professional scientist."

"And, NO I am not paid by anybody."

Fluxon, you appear to be a _self-described_ "professional scientist" who doesn't "really" mean everything you say.
Maybe you also didn't "really" mean "YOU ARE TOO PICKY."
Rather than interpret your language directly, each of us can decide for ourselves what you _really_ intend to convey.
And, if we happen to "get it wrong" (90% probability), you can say, "you should know..."
: Previous climate change have very strong orbital components.
: Other factors are more uncertain and less important. You
: should know this.
You're saying hobie really ought to know what you mean by "other factors". What other factors, Fluxon? REALLY?
You might want to consider whether your conduct here _really_ represents the meaning of the word "scientist".
To me, "authoritarian" is closer.
If you really believe the statement, "you should know...", then we don't need "a professional scientist" to advise us on what's really true or false.
